Man!!!!! Gotta post this! If i haven't already. <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/s-sd9Zygbdk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yeah he is the next Dwight Howard for sure, their games are so alike. Both can hit the 3 when left open.
Before the 2005-2006 season we were ranked #4 in the NBA per NBA.com and ESPN.com. How high to you have to be ranked to be a contender??? http://www.nba.com/features/power_rankings_051102.html http://espn.go.com/nba/powerrankings/_/year/2006/week/0 I used the term "future HOF'ers" strictly because they're playing in the NBA RIGHT now...and btw as of right now they are ALL HOF'ers. And even if you don't think they'll be in the HOF, that just shows how stupid this thread is; The fact that we're talking about a possible Hall of Fame player and we're saying a rookie (with 0 NBA experience) can be that player because of some summer league games is definitely ridiculous No what I'm saying is that if I were the Orlando Magic that it would've taken a Heck of a lot more than Terrance Jones to get D.Howard. I'm not saying that you can't project a player's down the road value, what most of us are saying is that you should probably wait until the #18 draft pick has played one NBA game before asking if he can be "a lesser version" of the 3 time D.P.O.Y.
Yeah you can, I actually was looking for some new stuff, because I actually saw that video before you posted it the last time. And as a side note, I think Terrance Jones can/will be an awesome player given where he was drafted. I just think it can be difficult getting Dwight Howard 2.0 with the 18th pick in the draft....lol
That's only because no one will be looking for him there. The lock-out pushed a lot of top players the year before down. At one point Jones was considered a top 5 pick. I really didn't mean to make it sound as if he would be like Dwight. I meant he could score and play defense at the same position. I admit, i tried to dress the title up a bit. At the time we were in the middle of the Dwightmare and i got caught up. Still doesn't change the fact that he could be a very good center with time.
We weren't contenders dude. We lost in the first round of the playoffs. There's no need for stats, things are settled on the court. real contenders make it past the first round
The way you declare a team a contender is only in hindsight when you see who made the Finals? Got it. So if the Heat go 70-12 this year but then lose in the first round due to injuries, you would then retroactively take back their "contender" status for the season right?
hindsight? that crap was ancient history. what if the US didn't beat england in the revolution? So if = there's no "If" in history History proves if you are contenders or pretenders. Get that "what if" crap out of here.
You made my point. So according to you, the Bulls weren't contenders last year despite having the best record in the NBA.
They aren't contenders without their best player. history proved that. you and the rest of the "what ifers" can pretend the Rockets of 06 were contenders but contenders don't lose in the 1st round. it goes against the definition of contending. look dude. I was pissed off about that year too, but it was reality and sometimes people can't accept reality. truth hurts man.
Whoa, so if you edit your post, it changes my post as well even though I quoted you. Not fair man. How would people force you to eat crow if you deserve it? (Not saying it applies now) I think you're just arguing your own definition of contender now. Maybe other people have a different opinion? Just a thought. The gentleman earlier in the thread was lamenting that the Rockets were "never contenders." Considering they've had players like Hakeem, Clyde, Yao and McGrady on teams that were widely considered contenders (maybe not by you after you retroactively passed your judgement on those teams), I think he's obviously wrong. Rockets have had plenty of superstar players and teams that were expected to contend for a chip.
when did i ever say the Bulls? you used that example. horrible example by the way cause of the Rose injury. The Rockets in 06 weren't hurt. their best players were healthy. Dude it's really simple: Nobody knows what happens til it happens, but after it happens the answer is THERE. The Rockets THOUGHT they had contenders during that year, so did the fans, the media etc. But after losing the answer is obvious. the best team always wins. Plus the Rockets lost by 40 points in a game 7. True contenders don't get their ass whipped like that and show no fight in a game 7. Legendary teams, Rockets, or any team, they step up in game 7.
what game are you talking about? I'm talking about the Rockets vs Mavericks (hint the Rockets lost by 40) which players went down? I saw that game. I don't remember any injuries. which players? <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=bbr&url=%2Fboxscores%2F200505070DAL.html&div=div_HOU_basic"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=bbr&url=%2Fboxscores%2F200505070DAL.html&div=div_DAL_basic"></script>
