Why would anyone still want Owens on their team after all of this?

Sheesh this guy is a punk and a malcontent. I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team.

The guy is the ultimate prima donna and sickens me. I hope he's stuck in Baltimore and sucks it up and quits his damn whining.

If the NFL rules in favor of Owens, it just sets a BAD precedent and opens a whole new can of worms for players in the future that are traded.

I am wondering the same thing - after all of this, who would WANT him?

And why is Terrell Owens any different from any other unhappy player? Not a good precedent if the NFL rules in his favor.

Let's get the facts straight, the NFL has already ruled that Owens missed the free agent filing deadline and therefore his rights were still with San Francisco. The NFL Player's Union is arguing Owens' case for him against the NFL and they are using a special arbitrator who was picked by both parties, the NFL and the NFL Player's Union.

I think that Owens has a nice case. Anybody who knows anything about the NFL knew Owens wanted to void his final three years to leave San Fran as a free agent. I'm sure his agent knew this as well and it was his job to file the papers. It's not Owens fault that he wasn't able to declare free agency, it was his agent's fault so the agent should be punished some how, not Owens.

It was incumbent upon Terrell Owens to file for free agency. He chose to delegate that responsibility to an agent who was answerable to him, not to the NFL. It's not the 49ers' fault that this didn't get done, it's not the Ravens' fault, it's not the NFL's fault - the blame lies solely with the player and his chosen representative. He needs to suck it up and play for the Ravens, and fire/sue that agent if he hasn't already.

I totally agree. You didnt file. You arent a free agent. You got traded. As my 6 year old would say, "Too bad, so sad." You lose buddy so suck it up and play for the Ravens. It isnt like they suck and with TO on that team they are pretty good.

Oh well, it really doesn't matter what we think because it looks like the 49ers, Eagles, and Ravens are working out a trade to make all parties happy before the arbitrator even gets a ruling out.

What I don't understand is that I heard Owens say that the Ravens were his 2nd choice. But the way he has acted about this makes me think that they were his last choice.

A feeling, or could it be the numerous news stories discussing the probablility of it?

As a Boys fan I have to admit I was initially concerned about TO to the bEagles. The more I think about, the more I think his considerable talent is equally offset by the detriment of adding his ego and character in the mix.

The bEagles had been one of those teams where everyone knew their roles and bought in the team concept. Not sure now.

    Couple more notes:
#1 They keep on getting softer and softer and lighter and lighter on defense. This is a far cry of the defense from 2-3 years ago.

#2 At least that dumbass agent cost them a 5th round pick plus their best DE playing the run instead of TO for free.

Completely off topic, but I'd like to see the Boys apply a full court press for Bobby Taylor--I wonder if they think he is washed up. The bEagles don't see to have any interest in resigning him. Vincent and Taylor did more for that defense (great run support for CBs in additition to being very good cover guys) that they seem to realize.

absolute nonsense.. the eagles should have had to give a 2nd rounder to the ravens.. it was his player.. all the ravens get out of losing owens who they aquired fairly is a 5th rounder.

The Ravens got their own pick returned, and they got a 5th rounder. Considering how Owens acted, I am pretty sure they are happy to escape from the deal and get a free bonus pick too boot.

Starting Phily DE and their best run DE. He will certainly start for the 49ers, but no, I suspect they would rather have a 2nd rounder. Still, it is compensation the 49ers would not have had if TO's agent wasn't such a dumbass. TO's agent cost the bEagles a draft pick and player they would not have had to give up.
