Which is exactly what Team Owens wants to happen. He's quite probably unstable but again what if he is? The bottom line is that T.O. is once again getting the attention he craves. I can't believe how many folks here are taking this seriously...
The police report says that he had taken 5 pills up until yesterday. The prescription bottle was empty, the publicist tried to remove the last two pills from his mouth, and he by his own admission told the police he had taken the remainder of the prescription, was "depressed" and was trying to harm himself.
Maybe you're right. Maybe I'm not seeing the whole situation and i'm just being blinded by the person that is TO and not the human being that is TO. (I'm not being sarcastic either).
Attemped suicide is not a crime in Texas so, police shouldnt have been there regardless...That being said, police come out all the time for high profile cases and medical emergencies....We'll know the truth when we hear the 911 tape
And in attendence will be T.O himself, his agent Drew Rosenhaus, Michael Irvin & Deon Sanders. Deon himself has said publically that we will all get to hear the truth from the "man" himself. I'll bet that my "BS" meter will go off the scale...
I remember watching the game where they cheered when Irvin got hit and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. Them being upset isn't surprising.
They were saying they felt bad because he was going through this although I could see the majority being upset because he might not get to play vs. the Eagles in week 5.
Depression of this sort is not a "rationale" thing. It isn't a case of well I have a blessed life or more gifts or a better situation than others so “what the hey, I ain't going to be depressed” kind of thing. There is a documentary by Mike Wallace on depression that references his own life quite a lot and the lack of control he felt over it, I would recommend it to many of you. What do you know about his childhood? What do you know about his brain chemistry? What do you know about real life events with real loved ones that may have affected him? I rather come from a caring and loving family and environment and have MY football talent than have Owens football talent but from an abusive, unloving, home situation. Not that I know either way what Owens real life was like or is like, but all we know is this 1% media life. Separate the 1% persona/player from the person people and keep your judgments about their personal life to a minimum, how hard it. Sheesh, as far as I know Owens has no record or accusations of raping or physically attacking another, if you want to judge someone on something with a little more merit. Owens is a jackass on the field, he is a primma donna, he is a locker room cancer as far as managing a football team, but that is just football. Route for him to fail at football if you want, but hopefully nothing more.
It’s the sweeping dickh**d and self-righteous comments I have taken seriously, I admit the story about Owens itself is sketchy and who knows at this point.
Thank you for that post. Really. I came off too reactionary because it was TO but I still harbor that feeling inside of me that this suicide attempt is nothing more than an opening act for what's going to happen in two weeks in Philadelphia
I don't know man. I'm just saying that IF he has some sort of mental condition/imbalance that's at the root of everything (and leads up to a suicide attempt) then I don't understand the logic of pinning it on "well he's just an *******". I've never liked him (the football player) either. But that really doesn't matter either way. If he's 'unstable' then 'what he wants to happen' takes on a whole different meaning. "getting attention' is far from the bottom line at that point.
