I understand that... which is why you can't go too far one way or the other. The reporter seemed pretty confident that this was just a "drug reaction"... and that was all. When pressed about the police report, he started stumbling in his words, and kept on saying that "he talked to the girl... and she said he took the pills... and, and, its a reaction." They should be reporting what they know, not projecting conjecture as fact.
I feel sorry for him. Sometimes people do alot of things to get attention thinking that it will bring love and happiness, but in the end it just brings more sadness and insecurities. I don't know what is wrong with TO, but for perfectly healthy person to try to kill himself, there must be something seriously wrong.
I thought his persona was an act, maybe he really has a problem. I wonder how a mental health issue affects NFL contracts.
He gets no sympathy for me. The dude has everything and he always acts as if someone is out to get him. He acts all big and bad and now that he can't handle whatever his problem is I am supposed to feel sorry for him. Screw TO. That dude lives in a different universe and has brought the vast majority of his problems on himself. Try dealing with reality dude. How about having real problems like real people. He acts like a jackass and now we are supposed to go to his aid. Yeah whatever.
Which was/is exactly my take on this whole "episode". Now everybody is talking about "T.O." again which is exactly what he wants - he gets to be the center of attention. I hate to sound like a hardass but this looks to me like another "look at me" situation orchestrated by T.O.. The spin job is already in motion. On ESPN radio right now Clarence Hill - a reporter at the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram - His publicist is saying that this was NOT a suicide attempt but is instead simply a bad "reaction" to supplements he was taking and that T.O. was too "groggy" to understand what the police were asking him. Said publicist asserts that the police have mistakenly connected the dots wrong - that this was NOT a suicide attempt at all. The Dallas Police are expected to have their own press conference shortly. The police report is at odds with what the publicist is saying so as they say: The game is now afoot...
Damn, T.O. As everybody might know, I am a huge Eagles fan. As much as I dislike Owens this is nothing to be excited about. Maybe there are some underlying issues that he really does have.
if you're out to seek attention to the extent that you'd attempt to kill yourself, you're more than a spoiled brat.....something is seriously wrong with you. the guy needs help.
The constant need to be in the news, create drama/controversy, and have the world hanging on your every word... IS a hallmark of a guy who is seriously disturbed. The fact that nobody saw it before something like this happened is the problem with how the media runs things. When they saw TO working out in his driveway, they thought it was bizzare... but colorful. I thought it was pretty nutty, and indicative of a guy who's mentally unstable. I still didn't forsee anything like this happening, however.
I can easily see and understand TO being depressed. This does not suprise me seeing as how he is disliked by his coworkers, public scrutiny etc.... Interesting to me is that the vast majority of male suicide attempts are violent in nature. It is more rare to see an OD attempt in a male serious about suicide. These are usually labeled as "cries for help".
