I totally forgot about reading that earlier. That is unbelievably disgusting. Artest is truly living in a different world from the rest of us.

He had mental health issues and had a pretty rough life growing up. I'm not shocked he lived like that at all, and I'm glad he found help and has come around.

Try not to shower until the hospital exam, cuz you're about to get repped.

There is a reason why he doesn't have any friends. He's a jerk, and full of it. The only person he needs to blame in this situation is himself.

That could be a reason, but I do think TO is a different person off the field than on the field. Alot of people have said he is somewhat aloof and withdrawn off the field, and not nearly as flamboyant out of the uniform. He's socially awkward in the sense he probably doesn't want people getting to close to him. Though, I must say he is to a degree socially a pariah in the NFL.

Football players cannot avoid the agents, gold-diggers, or hanger -ons until they're broke and are completely irrelevant, like their egos. It happens to alot of celebrities and famous people for every Tom Hanks, there's many more Leif Garretts or Lindsey Lohans out there. You not only need talent to survive, you need a good head on shoulder as well as plan for your life, beyond your glory days. The crowds of people come to watch you play a child's game, or for you perform some unique talent that fills out a stadium. When those people stop coming (along with money), what do you do next? (This doesn't apply to TO, but the draft busts and those reality show stars) What if you are not all the talented to begin with, what are your exit strategies?

THat's where TO sits right now, after a litany of bad decisions (on the field and off the field) and letting people who did not have his best interests in mind come into his life. He's on the brink of being a ruined football player. No friends, fading wealth, and no interests by an NFL team.

This is spot on. the only difference between millionaire athletes and blue collar thousandnaires that go broke is scale. if you've never learned how to respect money when you hardly had any, you won't respect it when you have an abundance. just look at your everyday american. we make more than enough money to live adequately yet probably 90% of us are in debt. i used to be one of them. you have to make a conscious decision to stop blaming others for why you're broke and break your own bad spending habits.

I don't blame him, he's probably so busted the only workout clothes he has are the free stuff they give to people who try out for teams.

He seemed like he was legitimately on hard times from the GQ article, Dr. Phil appearance, and another interview I cannot recall.

I'm not endorsing the lack of child support, BUT on the DR.Phil show those women were freaking scumbags. One of the basic whores in question took him to court ,because one of the mothers was getting $12k and she wanted that much as well. Even though, the basic w**** was already getting $6K - $8K a month, while she had a boyfriend as well.

I see why people treat younger women so poorly nowadays . . . they aren't worth a bag of rotting potatoes seasoned with maggots.

Isn't it fair though? If I give one of my children $100 for food and clothes, should I only give the other $75?

The boyfriend is irrelevant because the child is not his responsibility. You can blame the women all you want but Owens is just as much at fault because he could have avoided all of this himself.

Problem is he didn't make too much money last season. That's the biggest snag in that deal. Also, I didn't absolve Owens from anything, he dug his bed with these gold-diggers and he's paying the price for it.

Yeah, for talking trash about known gold-diggers. I'm supposed to give them a congratulations for getting knocked up by a football player. Oh yeah, because I'm a girl and I'm supposed to hi-five trashy women like that. I wonder what other posters would say about that.

Were they asking for this last year? Did this include previous, missed payments? Was Owens behind on his payments? Did Owens ask for a review of his cases due to his financial situation? There seems to be much more that needs to be considered and it's not as simple
as you make it out to be.

How do you know they are trashy or gold diggers or whores? Simply because they had a child by a famous athlete? Because they are asking for child support, which is deserved? You judge these women and probably know very little if anything about them beside the fact they had a baby by Owens.

He was out of work last year, and even said in the GQ article

And asking for thousands more of dollars per month, while $6K-$15K was substantial amount. I watched the Dr.Phil episode. I noticed most of the complaints were about the money. One of the women even had a live-in boyfriend. Moreover, TO even said with one of the mothers she wouldn't let him see the child for whatever reason. It didn't even seem like the kids were all that imperative, but dollar signs were cause contention.

Please explain to me, where do you need $6K+ per month to take care of a child. Maybe, I'm not understanding something here, is that like a welfare wage or something. $72K, a year isn't exactly chump change and is far above what the average American makes. If you cannot live comfortably with that amount, there's something wrong.

Casually forgetting birth control or using birth control methods, while sleeping with a well-known superstar athlete. I wonder...
