Forget all those crazy investments. I'd just put my millions in a simple savings account or CDs and sit on it, content.

Reading the article and looking back on his history, I wouldn't be surprised if he commits suicide in the next few years. The incident in Dallas and the one last year were cries for help(despite what he said in public imo)

On the other hand, he keeps putting on a front with his stance on McNabb and blaming everyone else for his stupidity. He calls himself "too trusting". Boohoohoo. His career wasn't in the 80's or early 90's. He had the opportunity to see what tons of other pro athlete's went through financially and to choose another path but he didn't.

Good luck to him in Allen.

I think this made a difference as well:

Just assuming, but he probably had less immediate family begging him for $$ and if his father ran a business then I'm sure he taught his son something about handling finances.

The thing of it though, he ain't alone. Most of America is in his shoes. Money used to make money, but that whole thing fell apart on everyone. When the economy is bad, we all lose. The wealthy just lose a lot more, and the problem there is they are used to spending a lot more. And it's harder to go backwards. The more you make the more you spend. The idea that most of us would save our millions is probably not the reality. It sounds good till you start making it, and then you quickly realize you start spending it too. I'm not sorry for him, but I don't think he deserved what happened either, I just think he's one of many who've been jacked up in the current environment and the reality is sinking in for him.

What's up with all these former sports guys having like 5 five kids from 5 different mothers and trusting foreign people with their money? These stories always read the same.

Well duh. My wife wasn't held in a cage by some Ukrainian smugglers until some dork who couldn't find a woman without paying for her decided to use their services. Of course she would weigh less.

I guess you got let's say 10 million in the back
and living on a million a year

You thinking . . . i could live like this for 10 yrs
    then
someone says. . . . you can either
    1. Down Grade and live sensible
    2. invest and make more money to live this way longer

    Seems most pick 2

    Which leads to
    3. invest badly and in 5 years cry about losing all your money

LOL - when the truth is I was on assignment in that part of the world working as a software engineer on an aerospace contract and met her in Kiev where she was attending medical school - while you were sitting in Houston, posting on cf.net (from your dead end job) and browsing match.com for your second wife.

The above paragraph is not me taking a shot at you, it's me stating FACTS. And for the record I have no idea how much your wife weighs - but knowing you, I took an educated guess.

The only fact you just posted is that I post on cf.net (which you obviously have before April 2011, Clutch knows this). My job is far from a dead-end one (I've seen my salary go up about 75% in the last 24 months as I've moved up two positions), I met my amazing wife on MySpace (I've explained this to you), and I post standing up, not sitting. Oh, and I have a beautiful 7-month old daughter that is the absolute light of my life.

While you're spending your time obssessing over my life, you can rest assured mine time is not spent that way. So, pretty please, forget I post on this message board. Put me on ignore. Whatever you have to do to get over this ****ed-up fixation you have on me. It's starting to get a little creepy.

That's exactly how I felt when he started constantly calling me out. I just want him to shut the **** up.

When TO has close to nothing left, Groogrux and SacTown comes in and hijacks his thread.

To be fair, Groogrux, you took the first shot at SacTown in this particular thread. But I'll agree that his fixation on you from other threads is pretty weird.
