thought the new character was cool for those who don't know. that's shirley manson of garbage, i also notice the song at the beginning was her voice.
it was good... but i never thought the teenage terminator was menacing looking enough. i hope she doesn't develop "feelings".
unfortunately, i think that is exactly where they are heading... jealousy, love, and all that.. this could easily get very corny.
My (admittedly weak) theory is this: the reason why Cameron was sent back was to fall in love with John. They got a terminator in the future that they know John would find attractive (and we all know that all terminator chicks are hot) and they altered her programming to allow her to have feelings. This is the key to the survival of humanity - the terminators have to have feelings to care about humans and to feel bad about what they do otherwise there is no stopping them. To re-enforce my thesis notice how Shirley Manson's character had feelings as well. She acted angry and vengeful at that employee. This is my clue that programming feelings into terminators is happening on both sides. One side to hate and the other not to hate. This also allows the writers to exploit the terminators as analogies to humans with regard to the light side vs. the dark side and to explore the age old sci-fi cliche about what it is to be human (i.e. Spock and Data). Or not.
I could see them going that direction but one of the exec producer has stated that's not what they are doing, see below: As for cyborg Cameron (Summer Glau), she's not dead — and she's not evolving, either! "That's what people want to do with robot characters, like the Cylons on Battlestar," complains Friedman. ''I'm not interested in exploring [her] growing humanity, I'm interested in exploring the idea of what it means to be a cyborg.'' http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20223149,00.html
That's an odd thing to say. I don't think it possible to "explore the idea of what it means to be a cyborg" without relating it to "what it means to be human".
That a good theory and makes sense...Hopefully it won't get to cheesy...Cameron looked hot last night...A little thick in the arse, but I like my girls thick like that...mmmm... I did think it was kind of cheesy for John to bring her back, but I know its a show...And why didn't they just run her over? That was even more cheesy... I do like the new terminator...not very hot but evil...
she was sent here from the 90s to rock us! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kBnyUpvmAg0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kBnyUpvmAg0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Update, I just saw Shirley Manson, and yes.. she's hot. I'm in LA, was at CBS for a taping of the Late Late Show.
she did an interview on the Rod Ryan show on Monday morning, and damn, she sounds like a cool chick just to hangout with, I've loved her since the first Garbage album, that was some good 90's stuff back then

I thought this was a very good episode...I love the background of Cameron/alison and how terminator cameron was revealed...how cameron was born...wow...I also like how agent ellison is about to work for the red head...
Another great episode, IMHO...I liked how they tie the future with the present with MB at the military school...could have done w/o the little kid stuff, but man that red head is creepy...Kind of funny how that hot chick was hitting on the plant mgr...shot his load too quickly...
Spoiler I don't get it, Shirley Manson's character is the most advanced of the terminators plus she seems to be too smart to need all these humans to help her. if skynet sent her to take over a large corporation, she could create skynet herself with all those funds. if she knows that sara connor, john, and cameron exist, she could take them all out herself.
Agreed...I'm not sure why she uses Agent Ellison other than she's busy with other stuff, but c'mon, machines are direct and get the job done right? There's got to be more to it than what's being let on or so I hope...We needed more Cameron last night...she's soooo fine...
Yeah I prefer more Cameron than Brian Austin Greer, too many 90210 flashbacks to make him a credible character on that show. yeah the T2000 doesn't even act robotic, so she's must be the super advanced model. so the power plant episode doesn't make sense now. if they had a disaster, then they would have had her company go and automate it. since the disaster was averted..her company still gets to automate it. so skynet wins in either scenario.
