T-Mo is the perfect player to back up the 3 and 4 spot for us in the future. If he learns how to put the ball on the floor, I'd have to consider him over Posey. I think one thing's clear. T-Mo is yet another hardworker on our team (in the offseason). T-Mo MoT Francis Cat Cato Ming (We don't know, but common..) Moochie (lost lbs) Rice Griffin Wow, we really are lucky. Some internal development can really do wonders for this team.
I tend to gush a little over his solid play as well, but this may be over the top. Posey is a very aggressive, Artest-like defender, goes to the basket with authority and can hit that open jumper. T-Mo is definitely an asset to the team, but I do not displacing Posey unless we fail to sign J-Po in the summer.
I see one poster mentions why Terence has "random" breakout games, why, maybe because he gets random PT. Sirhangup, mentions that TRock is an absolute liability. I think that this poster should see that he is 3rd on the team in FG%, and should look at the per minute stats and not total cumulative stats. Stats can be deceiving, only a per minute stat would be of any value for a player who gets random PT. Question for anyone, Terence is earning about $500K this year, but what is MoT earning? FREDTERP

His defense is nowhere near Artest. Artest is the best defender in the league, and has only gotten better. T-Mop goes to the basket with authority too, and is more than hitting the open jumper. He's looking automatic out to 15 feet. The good thing about T-Mo is, he's tall, has longer arms, and is a better shotblocker. Overall, the players are very similar, and the only way can seperate fro the other is if Posey master's his shooting, or T-Mo puts the ball on the floor with incredible ease. Till then, T-Mo's physical advantage prevails. I am impressed however by Posey bringing up the ball a few times recently. That was something new for me, and was I was pleasantly surprised by it. T-Mo at 2-3M or Posey at 5-6M? If Posey shows a MUCH improved jumper, then definitely Posey, but if T-Mo improves his ability to put the ball on the floor, then obviously T-Mo. One will have to go though, because they are similar, and Boki will eventually require time on the floor.
I love this Posey / T-Mo / Boki discussion because it's a win, win or win situation. We must leave Boki out of this for the moment because he has not played enough. Now, Posey is a better on-ball defender with a penchant for steals and disrupting opposition plays. T-Mo has excellent court sense and seems to know where the ball is headed. Whereas T-Mo has made great strides with his shooting touch, I still have to give the edge to Posey. As far as height and reach, that's almost even: 6-9 vs. 6-8, and Posey is noticeably quicker. However, T-Mo can play PF whereas Posey really could not. Posey can play SG where T-Mo really could not. The Rockets may not be able to keep Posey. There are a lot of teams who want him and will pay big bucks for him. T-Mo will cost the Rockets fewer dollars, but there might be a reason why the other teams have interest in Posey and not in T-Mo. All in all, I am very happy the Rockets have both players. I hope we can keep both because one has flowered and the other is blossoming.
TMO was having an excellent pre season until he suffered that high ankle sprain. Since then he has not gotten enough PT to be a liability. I think he should get more time at 4. He can't do any worse than Griffin, who is lost on offense. EG has no touch what so ever on his jumper, if it ain't dead on it's a brick. And please don't ask him to put the black on the floor and create. I think TMo is the answer and also, get Boki some playing time. This team needs a consistent shooter really bad. ~ kountzer ~
Typical, isn't it? Here is a game where MoT proved that he cannot even slow down a premier PF in crunch time, but HP is happy to call his number and call Tmo a non-rotation player. Anyhow you look at it Tmo is delivering big time. Rudy did not want to embarrass MoT but he obviously should have brought back EG with 5 mins to go. I like my chances with EG vs Duncan than MoT anyday of the week and twice on Sundays.
Morris is mo better. He's a good benchie, #7, 8, 9 onto the court. He is a FA at season's end. Do the Rox have any 'rights' with his two year 2nd round deal?
