Read a report today from Andy Katz that said the reason why both Morris and Jason Collins are skipping the predraft camp and holding their own private workouts is because they have already received guarantees from teams that they will be draft with a pick in the first round. Could this be the sign of Morris at 23 to Houston? Seems to confirm the interest in Morris late in the 1st....though I'm sure it could be another team making that promise as well. ------------------
The word is he was not invited to the Chicago Camp. Look at every scout and newspaper and rumors of his poor team workouts and attitute, is why he is falling deep into the 2nd round. I think it is fare to say that mabye he just does not have the confidence to play against the elite college players, least not the nba. Who wants an unmotivated wing player on your team, (KEVIN CATO). Rockets are stupid if they take Morris over Ken Johnson at #23, and they are stupid if they pick up Ken Johson at #18, with all the lottery picks, that I bet, will slip down after strong showings by others at the Chicago Camp. Look at last year, several low 1st rounders moved up the boards with stong showings, one moved into the lottery. ------------------
This is like a Chris Webber argument. Let's get him! Let's don't! Yes! No! Sometimes a player just needs the right situation. I admit he isn't always Mr. Confidence, but he 'll be a good pickup for this team. ------------------
Excellent. This fits beautifully into the way the Rockets do things. They love taking senior players that have fallen out of favor, the best example being Kenny Thomas. If this is all true, then that means Morris should definitely be on the board at 23, and the Rockets can address their big man needs at 13 and 18. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
