Regardless of the status of their relationship, the fact of the matter is that the couple is in some state of a relationship. A state that most of us have been in at one time or another. On the verge of breakup perhaps, but nonetheless, a real situation with real emotions. And the reality is that we are always faced with temptation. And the reality is that one partner is still hoping it works out. While the situation might be contrived, it would surprise me if you didn't relate to any part of the show. Even if you're married. When you watched it you could put yourself in the shoes of that person very easily. That is why I liked it on day one. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Phi: Maybe the emotion is real but the situation isn't. I've been in my relationship with my wife for nearly 9 years (5 of them married) and I can honestly say that I have NEVER been surrounded by beautiful women whose sole job it is to seduce me and break up my relationship. Sounds more like Fantasy Island than Temptation Island (are they in the same island chain? ). Jeff, I may be wrong but from what I saw it did not seem that the girls/guys sole purpose was to seduce the participant and to break up the relationship. It seemed more like they put them together to "SEE" if it would happen, but it`s not as if thats there sole purpose. The girls/guys {on both sides} that are participating are average people and I think what we will see is what could happen in alot of relationships if the trust and security is not there,granted the scenery is a bit nicer ------------------

Nothing as far as I know. I'm sure there is a catch somewhere, but they haven't mentioned it just yet. Whatever that catch, it may very well illegitimize everything I've said. But so far nothing that I'm aware of. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
If their purpose isn't to hit on each other, why put them on the island in the first place? They know why they are there and they know that if they want camera time (which, of course they all do), they better end up in a compromising position with a member of one of the couples. That is the sole reason they were put on the island.
