I searched Google's archived BBS for Hakeem vs Shaq. To my surprise, people from other boards actually say similar as Rockets' fans, especially on the Laker's board and Knick's (or (Sonics') board. They used Hakeem to bash Ewing. ------------------
First of all, to compare today's(or last decade's) great centers to those of the 60s and 70s is idiotic. OK, lets throw Wilt and Russell into the league today. Do you think their numbers would be anything close to what they really got. Who gets 30 rebounds a game consistantly now? Exactly, the level of athleticism today is infinitely higher than it was back then. Lets see, competition for Bill and Walt.. hmm.. none. Uh-oh, Walt cant sit in the lane for 3+ seconds.. that kills about 18 rebounds and 35 points right there. Who is the best Center of all-time? THERE IS NO RIGHT ANSWER. I would have to say that Hakeem is the best small center ever. He had the complete package and played the game like he was a guard stuck in a center's body. ------------------ BILL KENNEDY SUCKS!
