The way Utah plays, only one team other than the Rockets could sweep them and that's San Antonio. Why? Because in order to sweep a team like Utah, you have to grind it out with them. Dallas, Phoenix, and SA can all win 4-1, 4-2 easy against Utah, but if you want a sweep, it's San Antonio. They have the big and agile frontcourt players that can play with Okur and Boozer. Their guard play can go toe to toe with Deron and Harpring. Plus, their defense is better than the Mavericks and worlds better than Phoenix.
I suppose your implication is that the Mavericks are choking and the Warriors aren't really that good. At Oracle, the Warriors look like a dynasty team. I doubt any team in the NBA could beat them the way they're playing right now - especially in front of that crowd.
I see what people are saying the Mavericks scored 85 pts in their first game against the Warriors and had 6 players score. Even though, Diop was the only player out of 4 players off the bench to score in Game 1 and it was 4 pts. The Mavericks are way better than the Rockets, and would never let a lower seed beat them in the playoffs. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore?gid=2007042206
I'll tell you which team can have more than four players score in a game: every single other team in NBA playoff history. FYI, the b****ing about game three isn't about us wanting to sweep the Jazz.
Good point. You are right, Utah beat the Mavs 3 times because they were scoring 100+ pts and were not shooting sub 40%. If the Mavericks don't allow Utah and GS to score 100+ pts and over 40%, they would win. That's why Mavs would have beat the Jazz in game 3 with 8 players scoring.
Like the Jazz, who combined for 54 points for the lowest score in playoff history. They had at least 8 players score 2-8 points at least. http://www.nba.com/history/records/playoffs_game_points.html Next week, the Jazz and the rest of their fans will be sitting at home wondering how the Rockets beat them.
Very good point. How many people predicted sweeping the Jazz in the first place? Hardly anyone. Yet people act like the Rockets suck after one measely loss. And it wasn't even a blowout.
Agreed. Apparently Jeff Van Gundy has to have the Rockets playing perfect every night and they have to go undefeated in the playoffs or he sucks and the Rockets suck. Apparently, it's ok for San Antonio, or Phoenix or Dallas to have an offnight and lose a game, but JVG is going to get trashed if the Rockets lose a game in a series they clearly control right now.
