Seriously The worst thing about jail was missing two of my son's nine year old ymca basketball games. His team was 0-3, I saw the first three. i'm divorced so this is quality time. they lost really badly the first game i missed. my son hit a ball from three range to win the second. i had just been working with him on catching and shooting and that's how they won. anyway, i want to start a positive thread in which people can brag about their kid's accomplishments. hopefully it works that way, where it will be continually updated. I've reached this age and with my son i love hearing about what other positive things other kids are doing.
This year, at least: For my young 10-year-old girl First place in reading club, most points in reading books... 1st place ALL-principal list of her elementary school 5th grade... is a Star Wars fanatic like me... (filled up my iPhone with Star Wars wall papers from HD Screens app). Loves to play soccer. She is a little SwoLy-D in attitude (the good stuff, though). For my 13-year-old girl All-region choir finalist (Morton Ranch High regional choir participant), Drill-Team first team for her middle school, got to participate at the Texans' Carolina game with the cheerleaders in the All-Stars), all A's one B, short of Dean's list in high school. She loves "The office" in addition to Star Wars. She enjoys Indie music. Both my girls will agree to watching a Rockets, Texans, Astros, or MEXICO soccer game with me, if I ask. I'm proud of my two girls. Hispanic? Yes. Good thing you're doing well, Mr. pgrabriel, sir.
PGab, It sounds like you got it going on with your kid, keep working with him. I have been coaching both of my sons for more than 9 years in all sports, love every minute of it. We are currently on a 3 year winning streak in basketball - with my youngest son being the go to guy, it is awesome. He is the uber athlete in the family, good at every sport, all star SS in baseball, QB in Football, PG/SG in BB, and led the league in goals in soccer. My oldest is into playing guitar but athletically, he just got his brown belt in Mu Sol Wan here in Austin and we get to go watch promotions tonight. There is nothing better than celebrating all the accomplishments as a family, it rocks. DD
My son is 7, diagnosed with mild-autism and I'm very proud of him that his speech/comprehension has really progressed in the last year and he can answer questions with more than just a yes or no now. Plus, he continues to still get all A's a B's on his report cards going to regular classes at school. He's my man!
Damn...10 years old with an iPhone. How times have changed... congrats to you and your 2 girls though

We have two daughters: Oldest was born with transposition of the great vessels, at day 5 had an arterial switch, came home day 11. She is also treated for ADHD. She is a strong A and B student as a HS senior, sings in the school choir and has been in their ROTC program since the 9th grade. She marched in the drill team and she used to ride hunter-jumper in the past. She was just accepted at University of Evansville where she will study archeology. She will also graduate from her National Charity League class in February. Youngest is in junior high, starts at PG for her undefeated 7th grade basketball team (7-0 league, 15-0 overall, including winning two tournaments against two previously undefeated schools). She also starts for an AAU select team she has played for the last two summers. She is also a straight A student and is president of her National Charity League class. I am a truly blessed dad... both daughters are heroes to me.
