    Sweet.

I never got how the reduced advertising on this show (I'm pretty sure it's quite a bit less, with the "Dollhouse will be back in 60 seconds" breaks) was a viable revenue model.

If Terminator gets the axe, I hereby request Summer Glau in a guest-starring arc about Whiskey the Second, Whiskey A Go-Go. Glau has already portrayed an idiot savant and a robot; memory-wiped, childlike catatonia should be right in her wheelhouse.

As a fan of well-written science fiction, and also of emotionally distant (cyborg and PTSD flavors) former ballerinas, this just made my minute. Teh hotness returns.

    SFW: gams.

Dollhouse + Battlestar Galactica + Terminator: Sarah Conner + the remaining good actor on Angel = the Whedonverse just went supernova.

Onion AV Club: Summer Glau added to Dollhouse cast
by Scott Tobias August 27, 2009

Since Dollhouse received an improbable second-season renewal on FOX last spring, creator Joss Whedon has been cherry-picking talent from cancelled or retired shows to fill out an all-star roster. This morning comes news that Summer Glau, who played the ass-kicking government-programmed River in Whedon’s brilliant sci-fi/western series Firefly, will appear on Dollhouse in the recurring role of Bennett, an employee who shares a past with Eliza Dushku’s Echo. Glau, newly liberated from the cancelled Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles, will join a cast that includes such ringers as Battlestar Galactica’s Jamie Barber and Michael Hogan, Angel’s Alexis Denisof, and the excellent character actor Keith Carradine.

Dollhouse is scheduled to return on September 25th—and yes, Dollhouse blog followers, I will review (the mind-blowing) “Epitaph One” some time before then. In the meantime, here’s Glau in action, from the bar fight in Serenity:

I just watched the first 3 episodes. Just wow! Never seen anything like this. I thought the same thing when watching Firefly. This Joss Whedon guy is NOT your average creative bear.

    Bummer.

They should've put more smut into it. The smutty potential for dollhouse was enormous, but they drafted a bunch of super-serious scripts. I can respect that, But they should've balanced it better between action, suspense, plot, character development, and smut. Too weak on the smut.

Have all of you seen Epitaph One? Because that totally sold the show for me and Fox refused to air it.
