I agree this is an issue that shouldn't be ignored but I am uncomfortable with the idea of litigating bullying issues. We already live in a litigious society and I don't think dragging kids and parents into court everytime one kid bullies another is the answer.
In the more recent case, I thought the cease-and-desist was fine and seemed to have the desired effect (cowing the perpetrators and removing the video), but the demand for a significant charitable donation as recompense was just belligerent and over the line.
We are moving to a time where. . . 'mental crimes' like this are worse than physical ones. A Guy slaps your lil girl on the rump . . .it is embarrassing . . .it may hurt. . but It is easier for her to get beyond [imo . . i am not expert] . . than some guy putting on facebook and having the whole neighborhood and town thinking she did something she did not do. I think the latter is has a bigger impact . .but it is less prosecutable. Rocket River
