If you knew what to look for (you clearly don't), and if you consider that it's only his 5th game of his career, and if you consider that he's coming back from microfracure surgery....it being his first game back, and if you consider that he played only 30 snaps, you might be impressed. Since you don't know what to look for and you didn't consider any of those things, I'm not really worried about you being impressed or not.
Yet you weren't impressed with Mariota making his first ever career start throwing 4 TDs and with a perfect passer rating.
Yes, because how something happens is just as, if nor more important than what actually happens. Mariota's stat line is impressive as hell till you see that more than half the yards are YAC and that most of his passes are of the dink and dunk variety taking advantage of the worst team in the league. If Mariota keeps it up against a real defense, I'll be impressed.
Somehow... people are talking more about players NOT named Teddy Bridgewater in this thread, yet he is getting talked about in others. I have failed everyone.
Some good analysis on Bridgewater against the 9ers: https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/3lchty/breaking_down_teddys_deep_ball_from_minsf_gifs/
