It's possible, but why would the Texans advise him to do so when they have the number one pick. The Texans are hoping that they get a Julio Jones situation and can basically have another teams draft. This team does have a ton of holes, and if they aren't convinced Teddy is elite, than they wouldn't advise him to do this.

    Its possible though.

People who want to know if he can perform at his current weight care. He can't get credit for coming in at 214 if he has to be back around 205 to compete. The Texans met with Manziel as well and he wasn't advised not to run....

Im thinking that his weight was the reason that he didnt run...he was pounding calories before the combine and now he has to go back to his normal weight in order to run and perform like he normally does.

Or, he's going to keep that weight on, but train in order to perform at a high level despite the added weight.

We'll see on his pro day what route he takes.

Rules out the injury excuse. As others said I bet it has to do with the weight.

Also rules out the line of thought that the Texans advised him to sit out

I'm sure he's faster than Bortles. Bortles official time 4.93-? Big Ben clock in at 4.75
Bortles is slow. Just beat mccaron and mccaron doesn't even run

Looked pretty good. And its probably a better indicator of his athleticism in the pocket than running a straight line 40 yd sprint.

It would be nice to get a time though and see how it compares to his peers.

That's simply not true. You're interjecting your hopes and wishes and trying to pass them off as fact. He doesn't have all the boxes checked off.

Plus, I saw a report that his pro-style offense was significantly dumbed down at Louisville, which could call into question his mental capability. Perhaps that is the elephant in the room as to why teams are rating him lower? Not sure, need more info. It also could turn into a sensitive issue that people don't feel comfortable talking about publicly for fear of being "labeled"...

That's funny. I've heard from multiple sources, including the guy that installed the offense, that he had more responsibility at the line than any other qb in college. More than some in the NFL, as well.

At the very least, he made full-field reads, and not half-field reads like half the NCAA (I'm pretty sure Bortles and Manziel included). So there's that.

It's amazing all the misinformation out there.

Ugh, for the 1000th time, Bridgewater's shortcomings are ALL physical, the ONLY thing questionable about his mental makeup is that he seems afraid of competition.

Your nitpicking, he ran the 3 cone and other drills just never ran the 40

Is that an important part of the mental game for a QB in the NFL ?

I'm not sure he officially ran the 3 cone, that might have been practice.

    Could be.
