The Vipers landed Teddy Allen on this roster (Oct 27, 2024). Fascinating. He is quite a talent, but there's tons of evidence that all he wants to do is put up his shots. I have no idea how he and Cam Whitmore can possibly coexist. While Allen doesn't exactly have blinders on like Cam, Allen likes to watch himself get up shots. The thing is Teddy Allen can score. Good luck to RGV coaches.
At some point, Teddy Allen has to draw a little notice for how he's playing down in the valley. Maybe its coming together for him. Averaging now 18 PPG / 6.9 Rebounds / 112 Def Rating / 39% from 3. 12/14 -- 39 points (7–9 from 3) 12/6 -- 25 points 12/3 --32 points 9 boards 9 (6–9 from 3)
1/3/26 --- 26 points and five boards, an efficient 10/15 from the field, 6 of 9 from 3 tonight. He's on his way to earning a contract. I hope the Rockets front office doesn't look back and miss the contributions he could bring to our team of very bad shooters/offensive options.
No, Allen is a SF, but when he gets regular playing time (which hasn't happened lately), he's pretty accurate. And he's always been able to create shots. Allen has fallen down the pecking order since the Newton pickup. The fearless PG for the Vipers is the ageless vet Daishen Nix. He's a more stable ball handler than some of the Rockets, but very much a step or two slow. Not a lot has changed for him since the SIlas era.
