They did miss on some complexity. Rupert. Yes. They absolutely hinted at him not being so bad and raked him in the end. And while I liked Nates dark turn as well, I felt like I personally must have missed a couple of episodes when I saw it. Apparently I did not. Did not like the presentation on how to play Total Futball. That was moronic. And no premier ref would miss that penalty goal went through the net. So those were my low points.
Don't miss Mythic Quest on Apple - it is an amazing show too.....and the Tom Hanks movie about the Destroyer is crazy good. DD
Just finished. If this series is to continue, they should rewind and dive into Beard's origin story. Or just do an offshoot, like Better Call Saul. The scene where Beard invites Nate back was amazing.
I messaged you back sir. Sorry again for taking so long after you reached out previously. As you read my message I am sure you understand why. In spite of my time spent in musings on the Rockets on here. I wonder if my school work would improve if i spent that time on those writings haha.
It's funny to me how the language on the show is as bad as anything you will find, for the most part. But virtually every other aspect of it is 100% wholesome and fun. To the point I totally forget about the language. Like I would seriously think about recommending to people to watch with their kids until I remember the amount of bad language. It's an interesting line they walk but they do it so well.
Season 3 was solid, but it definitely did some things poorly and did not handle every single character and story arc the way it should've. It was very noticeable Bill Lawrence was very little involved and this was Sudeikis' first time really being a showrunner. Apparently Bill has joked about Jason unwillingness to take notes / learn about editing. The finale was good though, left me with a positive feeling that we really don't need anything more after this. The only thing I wish would've happened and could still happen is a crossover with Shrinking. That Ted now goes to therapy in the US. That's the only part I really want and need after this. But all in all, even if the ending felt rushed and unsatisfactory in some ways, overall well done. I liked it way more than the Scrubs finale. Platonic is definitely a show I can recommend from Apple+! Classic Seth Rogen, back together with the lovely Rose Byrne. They have great chemistry and I already find it way more entertaining than 'Bad Neighbors' where they didn't really get to shine due to the poor writing and obnoxious immaturity of those Efron brothers / cousins, whatever.
It’s interesting what’s now defined as “wholesome”. None of the characters have stable relationships and a running background gag is that the players are sleeping with different women all the time. Ted has a running affair with Sassy while Rebecca slept with her employees. Without spoiler it the last episode hints at a “get together” among the some do the major characters. Rupert is the villain because he cheats on his spouses and uses his power and money to get women much younger than him. There is an episode where Rebecca seduces a waiter much younger than her only to kick him out and it’s considering empowering. It’s interesting to note that sex positivity is considered wholesome and something that you could watch with your kids when not that long ago that might not have been considered such. Also I’m somewhat surprised the anti woke crowd hasn’t gone after the show for its LgTBQ and alternative lifestyle content.
Fair points on the sex elements. I guess I just meant the general positivity of the show. I'm pretty sure the "get together" you are referencing was a joke the showrunners were putting on the viewers who always wanted Ted to get together with Rebecca. They made it clear nothing happened in the show. Unless you're talking about something else?
