More people need to be aware of this show. Thought it was going to go the typical "antics of the stereotypical bumbling American" route, but this show is exactly what 2020 needs.
Through six. All the characters are likeable and it's funny. The dick player is a little too dicky, but that's my only complaint. Everything else is cleverly written. Their challenge will be once they win the championship, then where do they go. They will likely win by the end of season 2. Expect a bad news bears type ending this season. The humor is very good and the acting is top notch for what amounts to a comedy.
They are fighting relegation right now, would not be surprised if they get sent to the championship and need to fight there way back to the top. DD
Honestly, I hope they never win a championship until like, season 6 or something, if the show even goes that long. This is still a dude who's out of his element, coaching a very bad team. All he's done is win a Div. II football championship in the US; all of a sudden, he's going to coach a different sport and inspire a crappy team to win their league championship? Having them win any sort of championship so early makes Ted Lasso an unrealistic genius, which is not what the show seems to be about. Show has done a really good job of fleshing out characters. Even the people who don't have that many scenes (Higgins, the 2 or 3 players that bullied Nate earlier in the season) have had character progression.
So is it pronounced Tim Lass-so, or Tim Lass-sue? Only when I know the answer, will I attempt to watch.
I downloaded the first episode out of curiosity but turned it off as he was thrown out before the press as I couldn’t get into it. Might have to give it another try and push through
Totally need to give it a go - it is fantastic. The last episode is out Friday, gonna suck that we will need to wait a year to see more. DD
Might be the best 'comedy' on...anywhere, right now. Should be an Emmy nom shoo-in, honestly. It's the type of show 2020 needs.
