I had to go look through that thread and see if I complained about Reagan, and I was glad to see I managed to remain pretty classy (barely).
I wish I could have passed out rep for this. It's a great summary. Ted Kennedy lead the fight for minimum wage increases, lead the fight for the family leave act allowing one parent to have time off from work to take care of children and scores of other bills that looked out for working people of this nation. You may not like those things Fatty, but we are better off because of them. I would like to see you run for congress on the platform that you don't respect the family leave act.
thx. i stand corrected. probably have to go back and read exactly how bad the grave pissing was here...
I have to laugh at how so many people think he was the Thomas Edison of movements. Newsflash: He wasn't the brainchild behind any of them. It's easy to grandstand with the Kennedy name; has been for at least 50 years. To think the aforementioned items would never have been created or passed without him is just, well, stupid.
Seems to me that there are plenty of democrats who take credit for FMLA, minimum wage hikes (they also slammed Bush for the most recent one), COBRA, etc.
dam yer dumb Senator Kennedy has authored more than 2,500 bills throughout his career in the United States Senate. Of those bills, several hundred have become Public Law. Below is a sample of some of those laws, which have made a significant difference in the quality of life for the American people. *Note: For bills introduced prior to 1973, Senate records do not list cosponsors. From 1973 to 2009, 552 items cosponsored by Senator Kennedy became Public Law.
By the way, I never said it, but I think Kennedy did a lot of good things and I admire the fact that at his core he was a true believer in helping Americans. I don't know how much credit he should or should not get, but FMLA and COBRA are two laws that have a lot right about them.
fatty, fatty, fatty. why do you have to keep running your mouth? You always end up looking like an idiot. I have no issue with your distaste for the man in light of the MJK incident (that you just read about, lol). But come on - you admit you don't really know a damn thing about the guy or his accomplishment so please stop trying to act like some sort of sage on the subject. You've said your piece (albeit juvenilely), so now please bow out lest you once again alert everyone to just what a giant ignorant tool you really are.
Annnd I think that's about the 20th time in this thread someone has had to stoop to name calling. Bully for you and your cohorts. Where in the hell did I state I know nothing? This entire D&D has turned into nothing but a liberal hugfest, interupted only when someone comes in that doesn't share the viewpoints, at which personal insults, walruses and pandas are flown ad-nauseum. What a ****ing joke some of you are.
To be fair, while this is an incredibly liberal message board, the insults, walruses, and pandas (etc) are usually reserved for trollish fools with whom there is no sense in attempting rational discussion.
