Ya but I really don't want a song as my ringtone, I'd rather go with a standard one. Anyone know where I can download standard ringtones?
It does have one. I played around with my friends pre, it is faster than the old iphones, but it doesn't seem to do anything better than the iphone.
Except for multitasking. Besides, the iphone is 3 yrs old...the pre as been out, what? 2 weeks or so?
dude..there's always a product that comes out every so often that changes the view of the consumer and creates a different need. razr had the thinnest phone thing going on. then came the qwerty keyboards to promote texting. now everyone wants a touchscreen. do you really think 4-5 years from now anyone will care about an iphone? everyone and their mama will have it..and it will be "uncool" to own one.
It did? This thread started in January... I think it started before I was even here... In that comment, I'm not defending the iPhone, I'm just pointing out the fact that many people forget what started it all, I'm not debating which one is better, just stating the fact that the iPhone was really the first smart phone that really introduced all this stuff... I haven't really come in this thread and talked bad about the Pre or anything except for the first few pages, I think I had a comment or two, that's it. I'm not Cowboy Bebop, if that's what you're implying.
That's true, but I don't know why you are telling this to me, the reason I replied was because of the fact that people forget which phone started this... touchscreen bandwagon... that's really all I was trying to get across because many people tend to forget. I don't really care what the future holds for the iPhone, I'm just talking about what it started when the first-gen came out. I am not trying to defend the iPhone in anyway, I've posted a couple of articles here and there comparing the Pre and the iPhone, and maybe commented about it a couple of times, but that's about it. The Pre is good in its own way, and the iPhone is good in its own way.
Well the real winners here will be the consumers, since technology will be pushed even further when you have healthy competition.
I don't get why the need to remind people who started it!? When I watch Basketball, I don't want the constant reminder Naismith started it. I'm pretty sure when it was invented it wasn't exactly the same as bball is today. It gets better. Same as in technology.
you make it sound like apple invented the touchscreen or something. just because henry ford created the assembly line doesn't mean ford cars are the best..people have and will create better things based on a previous idea. that goes for any product..there's no need to keep reminding people what someone did 3 years ago. exactly.
It's what everyone else went off of, everyone based their competition off of the iPhone, so saying that the iPhone has been out for 3 years isn't something you say against a phone that's been out for a year but was made because of the iPhone's hype and sales to compete against it. When did I say it was the best? You assume I'm trying to say it's that, but I don't know why you think I said that or even mean that. The only reason I brought it up in the first place was because M3 was saying the iPhone has been out for 3 years and it's been lousy compared to the Pre being out only a couple of weeks and it already starting out well. No... that wasn't my point, my point was the Pre was created based on how the iPhone was.... what the iPhone didn't have so it could compete against it and beat it. I only said this because M3 had used the its been out longer, so it should be better than something that has only been around for a couple of weeks.
Ah, I'm really sorry man, I got confused between you K LoLo, I think because you brought up the irony thing, again, sorry, my mistake.
