I just purchased a new carbon fiber pattern pre cover. http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-SPRINT-PALM...temQQimsxq20090607?IMSfp=TL090607216003r23145
Probably not. Pre multitasks the way it should be. It's quicker and more seamless. Other phone OS like Winmo has to shift focus away from the current program onto the other app you're using. Which is fine for a desktop microchip, but not on mobile. This will likely change to all new (and pricey) phones next year because it's the chip doing the magic more than Palm's OS....
Really want to pick one of these up ASAP, I have a $150 upgrade thing for Sprint. How much would it be with the $150 off?
Thats the full upgrade right? If you're do for a full upgrade, its 299 and then a 100 dollar mail in rebate. I'm going to try to pick one up tomorrow.
i have heard that turning off GPS, bluetooth and changing email settings to "check every 30 mins" instead of "as they arrive" and using wifi can help a lot. also make sure you're not signed into AIM.
AIM and hotmail. Also, the battery is supposed to break in after awhile. I don't have one yet, but been reading it on precentral.net
Don't forget to sell them your current phone. I got 50 bones apiece for my Instinct and my wife's rumor. Takes the phone down to $150 essentially. Oh and thanks to all the guys who gave advice about the battery. I've turned off what you all suggested and it seems like it's got a little more juice now Can't wait for the update for the video. Also, I've heard that the software used to create apps isn't exactly user friendly, that's why we're not seeing that many. They should be updating the developer software soon and when they do, expect a tidal wave of apps coming down the pipeline Legend215
Everything i've heard said they were going to be very user friendly, but they still haven't released their SDK. I hope they have some kind of surprise tomorrow, to keep the iPhone party a little quieter.
What does mass texting mean? Sending a sms to multiple people at one time? The pre can already do that.
Looks like they just came out with a new design...ebay Just picked one up this morning. I love it so far but I'm having trouble clicking a link on hotmail when I'm using the web browser, any help?
I also picked up the phone today. Love it so far, although I haven't synced it with anything yet? (I really don't want to sync it with facebook, there are way too many people on there i dont really want in my phone.) Just waiting to get to work on Monday, then I'll sync that up.
Is it me or are there only like 10 ringtones to choose from? Is there anyway you can change the sound when you get text messages or for the calendar?
There's a new, minor update that came out today/yesterday - webOS 1.0.3. I'm getting it now. http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/na...ions/article/50607_en.html#N066192D0.0665F218 [rquoter] Feature changes to existing applications Calendar * Events created in your Google calendar—either in Calendar on your phone or in Google online—that contain a symbol or accented character in the event name can now synchronize. Previously, including a symbol or accented character in an event name prevented the event from synchronizing. * Changes made to Google events on the phone now sync with Google online within a few minutes. * The sync interval for Google events has been decreased from every few hours to every 15 minutes. Clock * If you create a weekday alarm on a weekend, the alarm sounds only on weekdays. Previously the alarm would sound on the weekend also. Contacts * Changes made to Google contacts on the phone now sync with Google online within a few minutes. * The sync interval for Google contacts has been decreased from every few hours to every 15 minutes. Email * Power performance in areas where wireless coverage is sporadic or unavailable has been enhanced. * Non-SSL Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) mail servers are now supported. Other * Miscellaneous updates for Email, Phone, and other applications. [/rquoter]
Its really easy to ad your own ringtones. All you have to do is sync it with your computer and drag an mp3 of whatever you like into the folder marked "ringtones".
Anyone who has one of these have any luck with cutting down the number of contacts in your phone? Or have a good way around it? I just got one a few hours and am trying to set things up with very little luck... My primary gmail address is also one I use for business - it's collected nearly 1500 contacts over time, whereas there are about 50 I want in my phone. I exported the contacts, deleted them all except my actual friends, and then Synched the phone, then reimported the contacts. However, I didn't realize it auto-synches it all the time, so it re-added my 1500 contacts to my phone. Then I tried creating a new Gmail account with just my friends as contacts. But it keeps saying invalid username/password on that account. This *should* work, but I can't figure out why it's not. It's just a regular Gmail account like any other. On my GTalk IMing, it has all sorts of contacts that are not in my actual gtalk. Any idea why that would be?
