It's pretty easy to flash to 6.5. There's some betas of it floating around for the Touch Pro and Touch Diamond. I'll probably wait a little bit before biting on the TP2 to see if better phones come out in the 3Q.
You should check out some reviews if you want to have a go at it. But hold off on it until there some confirmation about a glitch with the heat of the phone that cause some weird patches of color on the screen. Engadget Gizmodo PreCentral
I check it out for 10 minutes, I was not impress. The pre keyboard is small for my taste and it is not flash enable as well.
I'm a decent sized guy (6'2") and I've never had any issues with the Centro keyboard. It took a day or two to get used to it when I first got the phone, but I fly on it now. And from what I've read, flash should be available later in the year...
I've never had any kind of smart phone before, so I'm not used to any other kind of screen. I went into a store and typed on it and found it to be fairly good. Of course, if you are switching from a BB, G1, or iPhone, it would probably take you a little longer to get used too it. Just playing with it in the store, I thought it was nice. However, I'm probably gonna wait a month or two and see what happens with it. I just want to see how long they will be having problems. If the problems persist, I'll probably be getting a BB Curve. Either way, by August I'll have a new phone (but I'm staying on sprint...way cheap plans).
LOL @ the apple fanboy trying to claim AT&T's family plan is cheaper after comparing a 550 minute plan to a Sprint 1500 minute plan.
Well I finally purchased the palm pre, after spending time with both phones multitasking won me over. 3+ applications running at the same time. The keyboard came in handy as well. On top of my purchase I recieved a free bb curve for my gal.
i love my pre.. the OS is so slick and yeah.. the keyboard is small, but it beats the hell out of any virtual keyboard thats for sure
So my flip phone, broke on the henge, and is only hanging on by the chord that goes from the keypad section to the screen section. Looks like I'll be getting this phone soon. Luckily there is a 30 day return just in case I have any real problems.
I'm loving my Pre.....I purchased mine the morning of the launch. The only negative for me is the battery life which will last about a day with "light" use. But I did speak to a tech at the store off of Hwy 6 and Westheimer about it. He says that Palm shipped the phone out using a bad batch of batteries and that they are working on solution, most likely sending out replacement batteries. Other than that it's a great phone. My sister is an I-phone head but she fell in love with the Pre when I showed it to her LOL
My coworker sold his 3g for 100 dollars and purchased the pre yesterday. Guess what, he also like the multitasking feature!
I can tell you the Pre is a pretty solid phone the only problem I've heard so far is the battery gets really really hot at times and doesn't last that long.
I heard the same thing. Also I heard on their next update, mass texting (which should have been already included), video recording(which should have been already included, and an update which would help the battery life. I'm loving the phone, I can't wait till more apps come out for it.
