Thanks for the opinion from the other side, Memphis. We all can say we think he can do this or that, but coming from someone who has been a fan of that team, has more merit to it IMO. 14/9/2 sounds pretty good to me. I think he is the best fit out of the available PFs out there. Not only by what he brings on the court that compliments Yao & Tmac, but the fact he is young enough to grow and become a staple of the team for years to come as well. I just wish the final result would go as fast as his name so we can all start arguing the Rocket's next potential move.
'Broke' is a realative term. For Heisley, a billionaire at one time, it might mean he is only worth $500,000,000 now. From what has been said by Mr. Heisley and Jerry West, the Grizzlies organization is looking to cut cost on the non-basketball side of things. They want to keep the payroll right below the luxury tax threshhold but Jerry West said in a radio interview that that figure was not set in stone and they would be willing to exceed it for a significant improvement to the team. I doubt that includes getting Mike James or Moochie Norris .
I doubt there will be any SnT between the Grizzlies and the Rockets. I would like to get Swift for the MLE but I don't want to pay him any more than that. He will probably go to the Nets for the SnT.
Seems like rockets will end up with Walker by 3 team trade include Bobcat!!! Rockets - Walker Bobcat- David Wesley + Baker Celtics- Future first picks + some player from ?? http://www.shelbystar.com/portal/AS...ew.asp?ID=17408 Bobcats’ coach having busy summer Richard Walker Freedom News Service Richard Walker Freedom News Service Charlotte Bobcats coach and general manager Bernie Bickerstaff isn’t coaching the team’s summer league entry in the Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue. But, rest assured, he’s been busy. In the last week, Bickerstaff has discussed potential contracts with his team’s restricted and unrestricted free agents. He’s even been involved in discussions with the Boston Celtics about a possible trade that could net the Bobcats players and/or future draft picks. The Celtics are looking into the possibility of trading free agent forward Antoine Walker and The Boston Globe reported in its Sunday editions that teams with available salary cap space like Charlotte, New Orleans and Atlanta could help facilitate the deal. “I think it’s a possibility where we can be a conduit,” Bickerstaff said Sunday. “Depending on how it works out, we could get players or picks or a combination of the two.” For now, Bickerstaff is focusing on his team’s unrestricted free agents. “We’re going to talk with Brevin and his agent next week,” Bickerstaff said of point guard Brevin Knight and his agent, Bill Strickland. “But we’ve also talked to all of them.” Knight, Kareem Rush and Malik Allen are the team’s unrestricted free agents, meaning they could sign with any team they wish, while restricted free agents Keith Bogans, Jason Kapono, Gerald Wallace and Matt Carroll cannot sign with another team unless the Bobcats fail to match whatever offer they might get elsewhere. May off to hot start Recent first-round draft pick Sean May is off to a fast start for the team’s Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue team. May has recorded two straight double-doubles — averaging 18.5 points and 14.0 rebounds — in the Bobcats first two games. Matt Carroll and Antonio Meeking also have shined, scoring 31 and 26 points, respectively, in the team’s first two games. Charlotte beat Seattle 82-64 Friday, then lost to Utah 73-69 Saturday. Remaining schedule Charlotte has four games left on its summer league schedule after Sunday’s day off. Each game is scheduled for 4 p.m. The Bobcats play the Dallas Mavericks today, the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, the Seattle Supersonics on Thursday and the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. 17408 - 7/18/2005 - SP
This is EXACTLY what I was talking about with the Rockets in regards to Swift. Perhaps getting a 3rd team involved where the Grizz could offload salary to a team under the cap and not take any back. Again, similar to the Spurs/Kings/Pacers deal 2 years ago that sent Brad Miller to Kings, Pollard to the Pacers and Hedo/Mercer to the under the cap Spurs.
I doubt Grizz will do this, they don't want to make us better since we all in same division. I also think Swift will land in NJ Nets
Yeah, it is a long shot. And reading today that the Grizz might be more willing to accept the Nets offer of T.E. + 2nd rounder (a deal the Blazers WONT accept for S&T SAR) really stung! The Rockets might very well lose out on Swift because Rod Thorn wont throw a 1st rounder to the Blazers for the S&T for SAR. Ugh!
so, end up with Walker, I said this 5 times already, even I like Swift better but .............. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=99086
That's what I'm beginning to think as well. It just seems that Walker is a much easier target. We have a lot of expiring contracts that Boston might be interested in. I want Swift more than Walker, but it's gonna come down to the contracts they get to see who the winner is this summer.
