Team USA's path is clear: 10-0 or bust by Sporting News

It's clearly a fight for second....USA is cleaning house - and Argentina didn't look too good versus Panama.

 

Only one game matters in the whole tournament: the Brazil vs Argentina semifinal (not the game on Wednesday). Winner goes to beijing directly, loser goes to Beijing indirectly, via the FIBA qualifying round. The indirect route may in fact be better, as it is a nice tune-up right before the Olympics.

 

I think the Brazil/Puerto Rico game just opened the 3rd spot up a bit. Brazil, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay all have a chance at 3rd and 4th. Brazil and Canada have yet to play Argentina while Puerto Rico and Uruguay have yet to play USA. All of them have games with at least one of the others as well.

Should be fun, especially if Brazil loses one of the games versus Argentina or Uruguay...or both.

 

Does Bill Walton even know what the heck he is talking about? It seems like everything he says during the broadcast is wrong and sounds clueless.
