Yeah, watching the stream and the commentary, they aren't too Harden favored. Not what they're saying exactly, but how they are saying it and the tone. Kinda like poking fun at Harden and his comments about being the best all around player. Marv said, "So he wants to be the best all around player but doesn't want to put the pressure on himself... well... I guess I'll buy it."
How come people didn't get this worked up over Curry saying he's a better offinsive player than Lebron? NBA players are extreamily confident, that's what makes them great! They all think they're the best.
So I replayed the halftime interview. Wanted to make sure I heard what I perceived as another shot at Harden by Marv Albert. Matt: ...in a week which you've described yourself as the best all-around player in the world, in a 40-minute setting, you get a chance to show that off a little. Harden: Yeah, but I'm not gonna put the pressure on myself that much. There's so many great players on this team that... we're all gonna complement each other so... we're just out here having fun, trying to win games. Matt: Good luck in the second half. Harden: Appreciate it. Albert: So he says he's the best all-around player but doesn't wanna put the pressure on himself... he's having fun *condescending tone* (Chuckles) Albert: Do you buy it?
Talk is cheap. Gotta prove it on the hardcourt. Same goes with criticism. If you play well, criticism won't stick. I love the controversy though. Because Harden knows attention is on him because of his statements, he'll do his best to live up to them.
Harden will have to win a Defensive player thropy to get haters to like him. Curry has failed as much in the playoffs as Harden and plays worse D but he's the loved one in the NBA.
Drummond wants to be on the team. He is going to make it for insurance for Spain. Has Parsons played yet? It's either Hayward or Parsons, or neither.
