Not a popular choice on this board, but the 93-94 Sonics should have won the title. They looked past the Nuggets and got pimp slapped.

They owned our ass that entire decade.

not after charles (which was why we got him), their length and athleticism disrupted our inside outside game something chronically, but charles' midrange game had a history of beating them (and he pretty much carried us to that 96-7 win)

Dunno about championship, but the 09' Rockets would've definitely gotten past the Lakers had it not been for Yao and Deke getting injured and Artest getting ejected for doing nothing.

Fellas, its not about who SHOULD have won the title, its about who ACTUALLY won it.

Lets face it, I'm the biggest more passionate Rockets fan you could ever find, but I've come to admit that the Rockets win a championship this decade. Houston is just a fodder city.

Nah, the way that series went, with 'ol Joey C. getting Game 7 in Staples, it was decided before it even began. You really think the league was going to pass up an opportunity to get the Lakers in the Finals again, after seeing the difference between the '07 and '08 ratings?

this. that team literally had it all. even after all those suspensions and injuries, they made noise in the east. reggie miller, a prime j.o, prime artest, stephen jackson, a prime tinsley, and al harrington off the bench. that team was going to absolutely dominate everything in its path. i feel bad for indiana.

04 - 05 Rockets. Finley was freaking out of bounce  I think Sura and the scrappers could have won us a title that year.

How do you figure? The only reason the Celtics lost that game is that they were pounded on the glass. That's what happens when you replace a guy like Perkins with Rasheed Wallace.

Oh wait, there was one other reason the Celtics lost that game, but Joey C. has been mentioned more than enough in this thread already.

i really think the 06 mavs would have won it had they not ran into golden state in the first round.

It was the 07 Mavs that lost to GS.

Maybe they could have won it all if not for the bad matchup. Or maybe they would have made it all the way to the Finals, gone up 2-0 on Cleveland, only to watch Lebron do the same thing to them D-Wade did the year before. That team was just really mentally fragile after their monumental choke job the year before.

Hell yea they did. Why do you think everyone on this board wants to sex Mutumbo?

That Sonics team was stacked and they gave us trouble everywhere. They were athletic and matched up well against us in every position.

    -Payton owned Kenny the Jet.

-Kemp gave Thorpe and Hakeem problems cause he was so athletic and quick.

-Perkins drew Hakeem out of the paint with his 3 point range.

-Detlef Schrempf was cold blooded and he's definitely on the all time Rocket-Killer team. We didn't have anybody that could stop him either. Horry was way too young and Schrempf was a crafty seasoned vet.

-Then they had scoring (Kendall Gill) and defense stopper more or less in Nate Mac at their wing positions.

There's no crying involved. It's a simple fact that the Lakers won that game because of their domination of the glass. When you start a soft player like Rasheed Wallace at center, that's to be expected.

Could I add the 1976-77 Rockets to the list? I sure would have liked their chances a lot against the Portland Trailblazers in that championship series. It's too bad that they couldn't get by the 76ers in that ECF.

Those Sonics teams played many zone defenses before zone defenses were legal, they'd probably fit right in to today's NBA

Yes, yes, yes, one thousand million times, yes. If I had a time machine with one stop, it would be between game six and assassinating Hitler. I'll never forgive this, ever. It had to be said, OP.

It's about this time (Jordan's second run) when I think the NBA really started directing games with crooked refs. It still happens to this day. It will all come out, eventually, and be to the NBA what the 90s and 'roids were to MLB.
