Actually y'all are. She's frustrated trying to help with no support from ignorant parents so she says"all". Who gives a ****?

You're a teacher what's your opinion on her comments on parents?

Why are you complicating the issue?

She made a racist statement by implying that this a typical black person deal.

Whether the mom has been involved or not (I guess if we take her word for it, not involved) doesn't make the generalization not racist. The mom not being involved due to whatever reason doesn't give the teacher the authority to make a blanket statement just because she is frustrated.

Maybe you find it acceptable, but thankfully more than half of our country does not find such a statement acceptable. There are better ways to express yourself if you are frustrated. Why did she have to bring up black people into the conversation? Why not just say:

"This mom has not been involved in her kids schooling and now her kid is failing."

Why does she have to drag race into it? It really is unnecessary.

She isn't dragging race in. Black kids are behind. That's a truism. It's because of bad parenting. The **** y'all don't understand

I don't know the parents she's taliking about her history with them or any of that. I don't have enough info to make a call it.

I have dealt with a whole range of parents. I think that what is often difficult but also necessary is to work on the things you can control. You can reach out to parents, but you can't control their messages.

What isn't helpful is to mouth off when you don't know their circumstances.

That can be a factor, but there are many factors.

Black students being over-identified for Special-Ed and under-identified for Gifted/Talented despite being qualified happens as well. That's a truism.

Singling in on only one of the potential issues while ignoring or denying the other issues could also be part of the problem.

Some of the issues fall more under the jurisdiction of schools and teachers than others.

Her complaining about her job wasn't the complaint people had.

And y'all can't deal with the fact she is dealing with real world examples because you refuse to put some responsibility on parents

She is speaking from experience. She is trying to help the kid and frustrated by lack of support

I can't believe this is even 4 pages long with any kind of debate.

This is clear racism, anyone saying otherwise is delusional or is cool with it.

It's not clear racism. A frustrated teacher dealing with non engaged parents. She didn't use racial slurs or make statements like example "blacks are ignorant"

    Huh?

So black people are liars who just make excuses...

You're either racist yourself, dishonest, or you're about to correct yourself and admit you were wrong and she was being racist.

    Let's see what you do.

    Moving those goalposts huh?

She said that black people are liars who make excuses and you're defending her racism. It really is that simple.

Shame this thread needed any kind of debate but that's where we are at as a country nowadays.

Why are you moving the goalposts?

    You say...
She literally says Black people are liars and make excuses...

That's fine you don't care what she says, you're cool with racism against black people, fine, we get it. But you can't be surprised when others call her out for it when she says something racist.

SHE brought up race, NO ONE but her.

Being frustrated doesn't mean you get to be racist, what kind of braindead logic is that?
