It's not OK to spend government money on taking care of the sick and uninsured in this nation, but it is OK to spend government money on non-threatening left leaning political protestors who have signs. Spending tax dollars to rid the community of these non-threats is far better than spending tax dollars on helping the uninsured get medical treatment and preventative medical care. You've made your position clear.
It's funny how one side preaches about the constitution and claims to know so much about it... Christine O'Donnell, Sarah Palin, the list goes on and on. Seriously... a woman should be in jail for wearing a wig and running up a car holding a sign up? You have to be F'in kidding me. The only reason you want her in prison is because she is on the other side of the political spectrum than you are. You are sick. You need help. The Nazis justified their violence against jews by demonizing them and making them seem less than human. They blamed all their economics woes on them and truly believed that they were the victims of jews. You just did the same thing to this woman. Congratulations.
What does that have to do with a political protestor with a sign? The answer is nothing, unless again, you are delusional and paranoid.
Oh, c'mon use your imagination. No one though boxcutters could take down a few planes so what can someone do with a sign... you obviously don't work in security, do you?!
Surely this is a joke. You cannot actually be insinuating that this woman could "take down" Rand Paul with a sign, right? Not seriously or with a straight face, at least. Wow, you are. I am speechless. There is no response for something so stupid.
Speaking for myself, I said jail "probably." Jail is not prison. Lots of facts about what actually happened were and still are in dispute. Even funnier than my saying "jail probably" is your seeing that she has no culpability in what happened. You are sick; you need help.
What I am saying is that you don't see the obvious because it flatters your side: you don't approach a politician uninvited like that brandishing anything without the risk of being corralled. Are you asserting that she was patted down before this so she was known not to have any weaponry? The sign could just be part of a ruse to get close and she could have ulterior motives. That's not what I think from the comfort of my office chair but those guys watching out for Rand Paul obviously have more responsibility in the matter than you or I or any of the armchair quarterbacks here. I think to interfere with her is what most of us would do-- just not so aggressively.
If she was just showing a sign then I would agree with you. She could of shown her sign from 10 feet away instead of charging his car. I believe she was assaulting(intended to do physical harm to) Rand Paul. Government's job is to protect individual's rights (in this case the right to not be physically harmed), so punishing someone for an attempted violent attack would be an appropriate use of tax dollars.
My brother has for years, and I know that he would never think a political sign is a physical threat. The idea that box cutters could be weapons isn't new. Though it is largely believed to be a myth that that's what the hijackers used on 9/11. The only accounts of weapons from people on the plains say one person was stabbed and shot, and another was distracted by chemical spray. There is no evidence box cutters were used to bring down the planes. http://www.slate.com/id/2088092/ Please check out these stories so they don't serve to enable your paranoia further. I would hate for you to continue to be scared of political signs.
What you believe and what the police department is doing appear to be two completely different things. I wonder why.
If there had been attempted attack, the attacker should be in jail. There was no attempted attack, and the idea that anyone thinks there was is laughable.
Ask your brother, if he saw someone charging his client in a hoodie and wig with a sign, how he would react?
And I don't believe she was intent on harming Paul, but she should have known better than to pull a stunt like this. She should have been and was stopped... but with excessive force. Those guys working for Paul just reacted instinctively and got hot under the collar. It happens. Watch some video of the Democratic National Convention of 1968 sometime if you want to see some real stomping.
15 pages later and i still feel sorry for giddyup's wife and daughters. god forbid anything happens to them and they go to him for help or sympathy.
