She did nothing to warrant arrest. She didn't reach into a car window as some have suggested. She held a sign up to the window. Maybe it was a stupid political stunt aimed at upsetting Paul and his supporters. It doesn't warrant arrest, or anything else other than perhaps some derision.
Logic? Reason? Meet Steve_Francis_rules! You've completely obscured the part about her infringing on his private and/or privacy by thrusting her arm or sign or whatever into his car. Is that normal behavior? For you maybe. You make it sound like she was politely standing in the back of the gathering minding her own business when she got "stomped." ASIDE Has anyone read anything about who shot this video? Was it her confederate or was it a Teaparty member or was it a journalist?
She didn't thrust anything into the car. That is not true. She went up to the car and turned the sign to the open window. She did not put any arm, hand, or sign into the car.
I heard on the news this morning that the guy who stomped on her is facing assault charges. I don't know if the guy who threw her down is facing charges but he should.
From what I have seen I don't see that she did anything legally wrong. As I have said before I am not that sympathetic to her as at the minimum she is guilty of stupidity but what she did pales in comparison to what the Paul supporters did.
Like I said, maybe derision is all she was deserving of. I just want the lies about her reaching into the car to stop. Exaggerating what she did to make it appear worse is trying to lessen the offense that was committed against her.
It is absurd that there is an argument about whether a girl who got held down and stomped put her hand in a car window. The penalty for putting your hand in or near a car window is not codified in either law or common sense as "getting thrown down to the ground and getting your head stomped." This thread clearly shows a difference between the two parties. If this had happened to a Repub chick, there is no doubt that just about every Dem on here would condemn the action. However, my Repub friends make up arguments to justify what happened to a Dem girl or latch on to a false equivalency.
That is what was reported (by ABC News in my case). You are basing your claim on her self-reporting, aren't you? You are soooooooooo paranoid. Admittedly there is and may always be confusion about what actually happened unless more video surfaces but for you to characterize what you don't agree with as a lie is just ridiculous. I haven't seen a boot stomp her head yet. I saw one on her shoulder and then a heel slip off onto her neck a bit but the whole world reports and she claims that she got her head stomped. Just curious.
Or maybe it’s some radical and simple idea that real men don’t treat women like that under any circumstances? I know, I know…crazy
That's an interesting notion that I (seriously) have not heard before. I consider things like AKORN1!11!1 and "voter fraud" to be complete scarecrows that harken back to (and inflame) old voting rights issues from dimmer parts of our past. There is simply not enough real evidence of voter fraud to warrant the coverage it gets (and now the formation of all sorts of groups to "fight" the apparition.) Is the Tea Party a similar thing? I think it has a non-trivial membership (including people on this BBS), so it *exists*. But maybe the numbers of people influenced by it are greatly exaggerated so that the media can craft a more compelling narrative. Totally possible. I do note that the actual numbers at their rallies (even those with "key note" (giggle) speakers like Palin or Beck) are typically underwhelming.
BS. Who has not condemned what happened? The debate is about her right to interfere for her own reasons. You just don't approach a politician's car like that. If you have an award for him, you invite him to a presentation. This is just a clear effort to embarrass Paul and he is not obligated to cooperate. Even Bush ducked the shoe-chucker. The false equivalency (rape) was attempted by your side.
Maybe the guy was aiming for her shoulder or not, putting your foot down on somebody's head is getting stomped. Even leaving that aside that deliberately stepping on someone while they are down on a concrete curb is assault that can potentially cause very severe injury.
That is only part of the debate. But at the same time though wouldn't you agree that trying to embarrass a politician isn't the equivalent as physical assault?
I have yet to see a foot on her head. He puts his foot down on her shoulder and at one point it slips onto her neck. Her cranium is never touched as far as I can tell. Can someone show me contrary evidence? If it's a video point me to the time reference and I'll check it out. This is all very unsavory. She didn't deserve what she got but she was intentionally being provocative and a pest. Is that her right?
murphy giddy! even team Rand fired the guy responsible. the Black Knight would surrender. This is a DEAD parrot. Let it go, man.
could you imagine the fifth degree giddyup's wife would receive if she came home with a black eye? or his daughters came home claiming a male was physically violent towards them? i feel sorry for them to have a man around like that.
