It's sick numbers, but you can see from this game why, as a lot of them come from shovels/screens etc that are harder to pick off and where he doesn't have to do much; His downfield passes kind of suck due to his arm strength- they shoudl be up 21-0 by now if he had a better arm. I said it before, but you could probably take 20+ QB's and throw them on BOise state, and with the scheme and weak opponents, all will post big #'s.
Haha well that's a fair observation... I'm due for my PPD to fall when I get really busy this spring semester and in the summer.
It's a fair point, although many would argue (prior to this game) that TCU has a top 5 defense in the nation. Regardless, Moore has missed on some wide open throws downfield, otherwise it would be a 20 point game or so right now.
This game is playing out a lot like I think the TX-Alabama game will play out. Dominating defenses, maybe a defensive TD, lots of punts, etc.
...and Chris Peterson/Kellen Moore are channeling Greg Davis with a series of horizontal passes 6 yards short of the first down.
I don't understand why TCU isn't running the ball more since it's only a 1 score game - I saw Nevada move the ball up and down the field against BSU earlier this year with a very average set of backs. PS watching Kellen Moore try to throw the ball deep into double coverage makes me pee in my pants.
