I assume it's because she plays a prominent instrument in her songs and writes or co-writes them? Also, at least for the newer radio songs, the album versions don't have all the extra guitar parts that they add for pop radio. Makes it sound crappier and over-produced
OH ok. Well if she can play an instrument and writes some of the lyrics then she should be crowned Queen of Earth and given the key to Jupiter's Underground Diamond Palace.
She was famous years before that Kanye incident. I'm surprised at the number of ppl who never knew who she was.
I had heard the name but I didn't know who she was or what she did. I have never heard her music (well maybe I have but just don't realize it?) and can't picture what she looks like in my head. So if I saw her in person or TV I would not know who she was unless told.
You Be the Prince and I'll Be the Princess Its a Love Story Baby Just Say Yes Shakespeare just **** his pants and Bob Dylan just smoked PCP!
Yes, I have heard of her but I live about an hour from Nashville. Yet she has gotten bigger than just being somebody that would be known to country fans. I find it hard to believe that people have not heard of her; I doubt that even if you tried, you would still run across some article or picture or whatever that talks about her. I think she is pretty but in a weird way (she to me is of course, too young and she looks a little weird in the face but she has a good body and great hair on her). Her music isn't really country, IMO, but more like this "pop country" that is being done by pretty much everyone these days (the worst being Rascal Flatts...God, I loathe those clowns).
I've heard the name, but I probably couldn't pick her out of a lineup of Carrie Underwood and whomever the other young, blond, female country stars are. I just kind of lump them all together in my mind. I know one of them got famous through American Idol...
I definitely knew who she was...because I read People magazine. That said, I'm kind of surprised by people being surprised that others might not know who she is. I'd never expect it to be a large majority of people, but I certainly know more than a couple of friends who simply aren't into pop culture at all. Don't have televisions. Etc. Not that they don't listen to music, but they listen to what they like - which is usually more independent obscure. That's the younger crowd. As I get older and older, I also am increasingly aware that I also keep up with, and care about pop culture less and less. So I could also see older people (especially those without children) not knowing or caring about her. But for the majority of America, I'd expect people to have heard her name.
No scandal....and too young for hot pix. Didn't hit the bnb radar. Had she been out clubbing with Lindsay Lohan (or out clubbin' tiger woods at 2:30am last week), I'd have remembered who she was). .
HA! Out of sheer coincidence (I'm sure) Jeff did a write-up about this today. http://blogs.chron.com/brokenrecord...houstonchronicle/brokenrecord+(Broken+Record)
Anyone who's gone to the TV section at Best Buy has seen and heard of her. Since Best Buy TVs is a giant advertising channel they play at the store, I heard that When you are 15 and somebody tells you they love you song a thousand times.
Do you really need it explained to you? You insinuated Jeff had done this write-up after seeing this thread and wrote that article today, when in fact it was written Wednesday. So, again... you fail.
