Guys, my wife and I both want a tattoo but we have no idea where to start looking as this will be our first time getting one. If anyone have some good recommendation it will be much appreciated.
nate beavers is probably the best or at least top five in houston. valentin colunga might be the best (booked for a year though.)http://instagram.com/valentin_av what are you trying to get?
Ive gotten work at ink injection and their other shop off louetta, also got some ink at artofficial ink off beltway and imperial valley. Id say all three are decent, that guy valentin is on some industry best type s**t though!
LOL, do not go there unless you want graffiti looking crap. My cousin knows the owner and the guys he's hired are not well defined in the art of inking skin imo.
That's where my wife got two of her three. The other one was in Santa Fe, NM. Long drive for a tat, but worth it for the carne adovada.
if you were in austin i could definitely help you out, but i offer this advice... know what you want, what style you want it in and whether or not you want it colored or just black ink. make a list of all the top shops in houston and go to their websites, look at the artists work and find the one that you think can do the best job with what you want. if you're just wanting something small that can done in a couple hours then you can just walk in and probably get it that day. if you are looking for a bigger, custom design that might take a few hours/multiple sessions then you will talk to the artist about what you want/color scheme/ect - they will schedule a time for you to come back and they will draw it up for you. the really good ones will have a waiting list of at least 2 weeks. my guy is usually booked a month in advance. there is a guy named chris trevino in austin who books 6 months to a year out! i just did my 3rd session on a big colorful owl im getting on my arm. got one more left! tattoos are fun!
http://artofficialink.com/ Geo did my tattoo. He's a really good artist . He tattoos a lot of athletes such as johnny manziel, the morris twins, DMO, and many more
Yall should be true Houstonians and get matching Houston Astros logo on yall. If you ain't blasting, you ain't lasting.
713 on Westheimer is where I have had one done before. They are cool people. Also, Julian at Houston Ink Society is good. He is a good friend on mine.
