This offense would be a lot more fun to watch if the excitement if every bucket wasn’t undercut by the knowledge the other team will score on the next possession.
he's a damn steal. like lu dort. looks like Tuckers eventual replacement. just need to work on his 3 ball. love the way his cuts, brings the ball up court. looks like a first round pick
Prediction - Somebody not on the roster as of yet will be the starter by the end of All Star Weekend. Love Tate...great story..solid rotation guy, but not a starter on a serious team.
Their body posturing and expression are also similar to me. Maybe it’s low center of gravity or something. Can’t quite put my finger on it.
Nah, he won’t take House’s spot. When you will trade away Harden and Tucker before the All star break, he will take Tucker’s spot for sure.
Reminds me of Draymond, High IQ player who is always in the right place and can facilitate in transition.
Good post! While House and Tucker shouldn’t be starting, they are good bench/depth players to have. Why not start our best 5 players...Wall, Gordon, Harden, Wood, Cousins??? Yes, Harden at the 3 is a bit small, but that is made up by playing Wood and Cousins together. The firepower of that lineup can match the Lakers any day!!! Tucker, House, Tate, Nwaba, Brown, Mac is a good bench.
Tate is a perfect example of why 1st round picks are overrated. Why pay a guy millions of dollars in a crap shoot draft, where the majority of the players end up being out of the league or at best average rotational players? Of course there are occasionally generational talents...maybe 5-10 guys a decade who are surefire all-stars. But not many. The draft is a huge gamble, and I think the Rockets know that. They would rather extract undervalued talent from other situations (James Harden from OKC anyone?) or sign the many many undrafted players that could add value to an NBA team. We have Tate, who is getting paid peanuts and is playing like a lottery selection. Then you have Marvin Bagley on the Kings, who is no better than Tate imo, has an 11M+ salary next season. 11 MILLION!! We can scout the thousands of amazing players around the world, and sign of any them to a multi-year deal on our terms. Whereas other teams are stuck paying hyped players for many years on expensive contracts. EDIT - I also forgot Christian Wood was undrafted. We kinda messed up by letting him go but made up for it by signing him for 1/2 of what he's actually worth.
