One could compare Tate to Marcus Smart. Obviously Smart shoots better, but he had to work up to that.
I am not a big fan, although sometimes its necessary, to make guys play an unnatural position ongoingly, especially when young and developing. This starts with Tate. I am fine with him at the point IF that is where his talents naturally place him. TyTy just got shipped off to RGV land so who is our natural 1? Oh yeah, right.
I don’t love Tate’s fit in the team but he plays the game the right way. We need that skill more than anything on this team. The kids have been coddled because they are protecting KPJ and trying to keep him from blowing up. Eff that. I don’t really care anymore whose minutes Tate cuts into - just get him on the floor.
Amen. When you are dead last in the league everyone looks for any way to eek out a win. Tate at point guard isnt the worst thought in the world but it doesn't transform this team into a winner.
I like Tate at the 3 to replace Gordon. We need to bench Gordon, doesn't need to prove anything anymore and whines so much. Put him in bubble wrap and if no one acquires him please for the love of god release him from the contract. During the games it will allow us to run some plays with Tate as the PG and KPJ as the SF and that will be a good lineup. Just to have another guy who cares about playing defense is a good influence on these players. Would give us 4 players who can create for us (Sengun, Green, Tate, KPJ) so no excuse to not share the ball since it's almost always in a competent playmakers hands and we become less predictable.
