Tate is a point-forward. Coach made a good comparison when he said Anthony Mason.

Why play him as a wing or forward ? Play him as a guard , he can defend the position , create for others and run the offense .... put a bigger guy at the 3 or 4 spot and take advantage of his size / strength.

If he can improve his outside shot .... sky's the limit for him.

It is easily Tate’s best comparison.

I like the look of his jumper and I see him moving up to a 35-38% guy as his future with the Rockets unfold.

I like Tate as a 3/4 hybrid on a championship team. What a find.

I envision a lineup where he may be considered a defensive guard and Wood is the 4. That opens roles up for everyone in natural spots I think, get a scoring point to counterpart Tate's hustle, get a defensive 5 to help anchor Wood as a scoring forward and a glue man 3&D 3. Think maximum Pat Beverley not even shorter PJ Tucker.

I’m all for Tate starting before he make us fast and can play uptempo. He can facilitate. We need more versatility in the starting lineup . That was the benefit of the harden trade.

tucker and mclemore starting last night was jsut terrible. Can’t have multiple one dimensional players starting nomore

Wall Tate Wood can get out and run and don’t look awkward doing it.

Absolutely my thoughts. He could possibly be an All Star if he can improve his shooting, which does not seem impossible.

He’s been compared to Anthony Mason a few times now and I love it. He’s far from the same physical frame, but the left hand, big guy who can come down and initiate offense, defensively strong are similarities!

I'm starting to feel this way too, and Rafael Stone targeting guys like Wood and MPJ leads me to believe that we'd like to have some really nice shooting options at the 3-4-5, allowing our guards to have ample room to get in the paint, and allowing us to have some incredibly skilled size.

Tate can defend all 5 positions as well as anyone. I'm excited to see him play more PG/SG.

I really like him running the offense .... He's kinda the definition of "position-less." He gets to the rim with ease in pick and roll situations ....

My big question is how he and Wall coexist as a guard tandem , if they are efficient on the court together , it gives you a whole lot of options at the 3-4-5.

Improve that 3 ball and the sky's the limit.
