Tarik Black Postgame Interview | Magic vs Lakers | January 9, 2015 Great respect for Houston. "It was a business decision." Another great win without Kobe. And Lin had most points (18), assists (6) and steals (4) from the bench. Black had 14 pts / 9 reb, 4-4 FG and 6-7 FT.
In order we should have waived: 1. Dorsey 2. Nick Johnson 3. Tarik Black 4. Clint Capella 5. Isaiah Canaan Who knows, perhaps we still end up losing some of these guys as the nuclear arms race in the Western Conference continues...
Don't get me wrong Tarik is miles better than Dorsey, but is it really going to matter? Let's not forget Terrence Jones is coming back. Regardless of whether we keep Dorsey or Black, neither are in the rotation anyway.
-It will matter if Dwight is bone-on-bone. -Tarik "The True Black Mamba" sounds like he's as big a Jesus guy as Jeremy. -Kobe's knees have to be way in way worse shape than they let on. He sat out in Portland, played ****ty with no effort the next game-- just didn't move at all, sat out practice, and still "rested" last night. Even with all their careful "management" of his workload, it just seems like he is constantly in need of recovery time. I remember when Brandon Roy signed with MIN a couple seasons ago and his body just could not take it. It was reported that he could play basketball just fine, even summer ball with fellow NBA pros, but he just couldn't handle the NBA schedule. He'd be OK one game, but then the knee will just swell up and take forever to heal. This kind of sounds like it.
Lakers' season is depressing, Tarik has become such a bright spot for them! He's been practising on his FT shooting, and he always played with hustle and BBIQ even for us. Good to see Jeremy Lin has a Christian running mate. For us, Dorsey also comes in with energy but makes a lot of stupid mistakes. He can block shots though once in a while which Black can't.
I don't want to rag on Dorsey too much-- the guy is actually a very good rebounder and pretty good in terms of energy and defense. Not bad for a minimum wage guy. I also enjoy the fact that he looks like Dwight Howard's more stocky brother and always looks constipated on the court. Don't know why, but it's amusing to me. But he does have some frustrating weaknesses-- his FT, in particular, is not just normal big man bad FT shooting. It is so bad that this is beginning to infect the rest of his game. Notice that whenever Joey gets an offensive rebound, he'd rarely go up for the 2nd chance shot. Instead, he'd look to either dribble out of the paint or pass it out as quickly as possible because he's freaked out about having to take FTs. This stuff is getting ridiculous.

Hmm, I think if Dwight is bone on bone, it's not really going to matter who Houston has unless it's a star replacement. Black is promising, but he's definitely not ready to make a run in the Western Conference.
Got to love Tarik's attitude and work ethic. Would not mind having Black back down the road, whenever we need another undersized, hustle guy. Chuck Hayes faints.
Great serviceable center. I talked plenty chit when he was on the bench and our dumbass staff had DMO playing center
Wrong, wrong, wrong. Black was the only guy with a non-guaranteed contract. Let's pay Black, then waive Dorsey and pay him not to play for us. Great business decision.
Morey's making a few bad decisions but overall still a bad GM. This guy is all energy something we need.
