I doubt Rockets would trade Tari for Ellis. Camara would be interesting as that would fix the 26-27 apron crunch.

Austin would cost more than Tari, if we cant afford Tari how can we afford Austin? Plus you just give Luka a player he needs, someone who can finish plays and play great defense? Austin Reeves for 40M? bro wut.

    No way man.

I dont like this fixation for a guard. How about we lose a game first before we mess with what isnt broken lol. Rox are ass pounding other teams starters and you wanna break it all up before we even get started.

What are you guys seeing from Tari so far this preseason?

I feel like he is still a dawg defensively - never disappoints there but I thought he has looked better offensively than I was expecting in limited minutes. His possessions where he is trying to be aggressive offensively always seem like a bit of an adventure - like he is as unpredictable offensively as he is defensively....but aside from some bad 3pt shooting this preseason(1-9), he has looked like he can potentially bring some scoring punch to second units. I feel like he is primed to take a leap this year.

It's funny - he kind of reminds me of a Dylan Brooks type of player. You love everything about their heart and intensity and confidence - but that style of play comes with some risks when you don't have the fundamentals to support it. For Tari the 3pt shot still needs some work, his finishing at the rim is still inconsistent, and his handle could be improved if he wants to flex some more shot creation skills with 2nd units.....but with some improvements, he can really increase his value to the team considerably.

A.J. Green of the Bucks aka "Dairy Bird" agreed to a Rookie Extension. 4 yrs/$45 Million total. I have my fingers crossed that Tari's extension will get done this week. Come on Stone! Last year, Jalen & Alpi's extensions didn't happen until the last day.

I think he does definitely look like he has improved his skills like he said. I do think he has also been forcing/pressing a bit at times, and you can tell he's desperately trying to prove he's one of the top guys so he can get paid. I just hope he manages to calm it enough to actually be productive and not shoot himself in the foot because I've got a lot of time for the kid, I'd really rather we kept hold of him as part of the core tbh.

I thought his defense has been a little off this preseason. Offensively, he's looking healthy and is finishing at the rim at a high level to go along with high attempts at the rim (13 of 16 on dunks/layups with 2 of the misses being clear fouls. No RESPECT!).

Ball handling still is one-handed a lot of times, but he can move with the ball. Even had a couple of Point Tari possessions. I don't remember who was on he court with Tari besides Durant (unless memory is faulty), but on one Tari lost his man on going around a few screens and the help defense was like, "Naw, I ain't helping on a Tari drive" giving up an easy finish for Tari. Very weird. I get that it is preseason, but generally, a guy getting the ball to the paint causes the defense to at least flinch. He hasn't been turning the ball over much though he's handling it more. Granted, he did have at least one stupid-looking turnover where he predecided that he was going to pass, got in the air, and the defense was waiting on the pass.

Been an efficient offensive preseason for Tari despite his 3-ball not falling. JSJ playing great has overshadowed him some. Really, Sengun, Amen, JSJ, and Tari all look better now than the end of last season. Reed's looked better than last season, but he's been the weakest link in the rotation by far.

I'll be happy if he stays healthy and not miss a large chunk of the season.

I just keep clicking back on this thread in the hope that we’ve extended Tari. You have to extend the biggest motor in the NBA. We’ve really got a good thing going with Bari, Amen, Sengun and Tari. Love the chemistry. Let’s keep the family together. Get it done!
