I would be shocked if any player didn’t feel pressured to play by their coach unless they were bonafide stars, ala Lebron. But playing through injury is just another Tuesday in the NBA.

and I don’t see how the data supports your theory. Brooks missed numerous games, Fred has missed several games, Şengün I believe has missed a game or two, Smith missed several games. Why would he purposefully drive arguably his two best young guys to unnecessarily play through injury? But allow other players to rest? It’s not like Dillon and FVVs impact aren’t important to our chances of success.

It would be uncommon to rest players for minor ankle sprains. Is there any evidence Sengun’s ankle was anything more than that? I doubt there’s more than a handful of players in the league who don’t play through a sprained ankle at some point through the season.
Hell I’ve been playing on one for 3 weeks. You should see me trying to cut left. I look like a jumbo jet bouncing on the tarmac while landing trying to slow myself down before planting to cut.

Way too early to judge, especially with the improvements we’ve made already. For sure, I have been frustrated with his rotations, but we really don’t know if it is all part of a development strategy to bring along youngsters more slowly than we as fans would like. Also, I’m not sure he is responsible for injuries to Dillion, Jabari, Tari, and JVV which I think has had a way bigger impact on our current regression than his rotations.

I'm feeling old. Growing up, man-to-man defense was forced. If your man couldn't shoot, you still had to guard him or double team the guy with the ball. Point of attack defense allowed a lot more contact, but help defense was either blocked shots and fouling unless you were playing the Supersonics. It just seemed like the old NBA was about getting the ball to the best guy on the court and letting him cook whether or not the other guys on his team could shoot. PnRs were there, but not needed as much. A lot more post ups. I just don't see how throwing the ball into the post when the guy can't be doubleteamed before he has the ball is some advanced strategy.

I'd say the X's and O's looked prettier back then as the defender could harrass more, but his teammates couldn't help as much. Now, if you don't have shooting, everything gets cluttered. I think there is a lot of strategy in the game today (for the good teams any way), but it just isn't pretty unless you have Halliburton.

There's no data man. There's not going to ever be any proof or evidence of such a thing because it's against the rules. I know I can't prove it, I can just speculate.

I think you're listing people missing games due to injury but that doesn't prove anything either. Coaches who push players like that will also have players who just miss games due to an injury.

For me, playing on a bad ankle early in the season is asking for it. I don't think people are really playing on sprained ankles anymore, we're in the age of modern science and maximum rest.

Anyway like I mentioned there's no proof possible here so we can speculate forever. I get that you don't agree with me.

This is embarrassing but when it comes to US sports, I am 100% ignorant outside of the NBA. I don't even know who is playing in the Super Bowl. Sounds crazy, I know.

Doing away illegal defense makes defensive and offensive strategies more intriguing. The days of defensive specialists is gone. You can't hide an unskilled offensive player by placing him out of the way and play 4 on 4.

What makes it bad is the inconsistent calling on defense. You can't breathe on a guy in the perimeter but can get away with murder down low. And you can double team without the ball. It drives the low post big men into extinction and kills the inside out game. Players like Yao and Sengun would be been much more dominant playing in the 80s and 90s.

Taylor Swift is playing in the Super Bowl and will be crowned queen of all football (including non American football) on Sunday. That's all you need to know!

Am I crazy for believing we have 5-7 more wins this year if he was/is healthy?

I've heard that this year it's the Department of Defense, led by quarterback Taylor Swift, against the Patriots, led by Donald Trump. :D
