Kawhi's offensive skills were already more advanced at a younger age IMO. Tari is great, but I don't see him ever getting to that level as a scorer.
If Tari continues to play this well, next time his interviews on the streets will have no content because everyone knows him.
Guys who can make a massive impact despite being mechanically unsound are the definition of potential superstars. Kawhi was the exact same way.
I don't think that'd be enough. Hell, I'm not sure they'd trade him several for of their own picks and swaps. The Grizzlies allegedly offered four FRPs for Bridges. We'd probably have to send everything they owe us back to get into the conversation.
You'd like to see more flashes. If you look at tape of his first few years in the league Kawhi was already flashing some advanced shotmaking/finishing skills, it was just inconsistent. Tari barely shows anything beyond dunking and hitting open three pointers. He has started trying to take that little fadeaway bunny shot near the paint a bit, but that's about all I can think of in terms of more-difficult shotmaking. Could he still add on? Sure. I'd just be surprised if he ever becomes an elite scorer. I think his more likely ceiling is something like Shawn Marion as opposed to a legit superstar. And there's nothing wrong with that. Marion was a 4x All-Star, after all.
The Grizzlies picks were not expected to be good. Brooks, Tate, and the Nets pick probably is the equivalent to 3 FRP assuming the Nets redirect Brooks and Tate for 2 FRPs combined. That might not be enough, but it is in the ballpark.
Love Tari - just wondering, is some of this because of playing against the second units in blowouts (either direction)?
With Eason being out for many games, I think that's too small of a sample size. But this isn't new; he has always been that good, and I believe it's mostly because of Eason. He's been extremely disruptive on defense since he first stepped on the court.
Y'all mofos can be bickering with your specified player faction. The way I see it. We have a franchise player at every position! That's why my biggest worry is getting a 14ppg/25 minutes a night 6th man.
Jabari is a little over full two years younger than Tari, we are lucky to have the both, but personally I am unsure who will have the higher ceiling.
