I think Jabari has a higher chance of making an All-Defensive Team than Tari. Unless he has dramatically progressed since his last real NBA action, he is more a rotation player than a starter.

This is true. If they are both equally healthy Id pick Tari over Jabari.

We honestly have no clue how well Tari would do as a stater playing against opposing starting units. He just hasn't played enough to be clear of what he is on offense.

One thing people forget. Tari is the oldest of the core 7. Bari is the 3rd youngest. Tari's body is clearly more developed than Bari's.

I mean, it is still kind of close, but this is what the per 36 numbers look like:

Tari is the better scorer, defender, rebounder, passer - and, most shockingly, also the better 3-point shooter so far.

You can't accurately compare bench player's low volume performance to starter's. You don't know how Tari would play if he was starting.

Coming off the bench has more energy to spend, and usually faces lesser opponents. I'm not saying Tari is or is not better than Jabari. We just have to take those per 36 minutes stats with a grain of salt when we compare two players with significant difference in PT.

I think the two guys have different style and can complement each other very well.

    Fair enough.

But I would rather lock up Tari on a long-term 12-15 million a year deal than pay Jabari anything near the max.

Well, the good thing is, we still have one more year to watch them develop. Hopefully Tari will be fully healthy and Udoka will play him a lot. I really hope Brooks will either be gone or significantly reduced. Tari, Amen, and Cam should all take his minutes.

I like all our guys, but I am most excited about seeing Alpi, Tari, Reed, Amen, Fred, Steven Adams operate.

Ya it's going to be hard to get all these guys 25+ mpg.

Amen will get most of his minutes at the three probably, with some minutes as the pg and some minutes as a 4 or 5 in small ball line ups.

Cam will get minutes at the 2 and 3.

Tari will get minutes as a 3 and 4. Maybe occasionally as a 5 in small ball line ups also.

The one common denominator is they all play the 3 position so that means Dillon gotta go.

Dillon seems to need to be out of the picture if we want all three of these dudes getting reasonable minutes.

There are 240 total minutes in a regulation game. You could conceivable have 8 players each average 30 minutes a game. That is a playoff starting rotation.

I think with some deft, a good structure/plan, and hopefully (I'm praying for) a movement-centric offensive system, they could get close to that with balancing minutes as needs and match ups determine.

The question is how patient/impatient will the Rockets be if Dillon Brooks does not positively impact winning compared to Tari and Amen.

“Every step you take. Every move you make…I’ll be watching you.” Gonna get stronger game by game. He’ll be in full dominant Tari form by mid-season. Then the real minutes crunch decisions will begin.

Tari's impact was felt and helped us close out the win.

Glad to have him back and letting him work his way back to form and improving as the season progresses.

Dude they didnt pay Sengun nor Jalen the max. It does not look like anyone will get a max on their first contract from the rockets. If they keep winning hopefully they all want to play together for the next 5-7 years.

With the cap increasing perhaps they can pay players close to what they did give Sengun/Green this year to attempt to do that. There is a chance that they can 6-7 of these draftees together for their first contracts. Before the signings of Green/Sengun I thought that was close to impossible.

I don’t know why people assume Tari is going to be cheap.

He has an incredibly sought after player mold as a long, strong, athletic, defensive wing who can hit 3’s and rebound.

The only thing holding him back is being injury prone right now, if he ever gets over that I expect a big payday.

OG got 42 mill, AG got 33 million, Jalen Johnson 30, McDaniels got 27

Tari for less than 25 mill seems like a pipe dream. This isn’t yesterdays NBA fellas. 25 million is 18% of the cap, which is the exact number expected for a good starting caliber player.
