I wonder if we could get the Bucks to trade us OJ Mayo somehow. I see a guy like him as being a great 6th man for us. They are in the process of letting J Parker and the greek freak take over and grow. New owners and new coach so maybe they want to shake things up. Just a thought... Heck, package him and Ersan and we all set!
At this point I'd be happy if we could land Aaron Brooks, Shawn Marion and Jermaine O'Neal to strengthen our bench.
Translation: Nobody would give us any assets for him in a trade, and we dont need to move his salary for cap space any time soon while giving away picks to do so, so we gave up on shopping him.....for now.... but if you want him, call me.
I'm not sure if we've contacted Marion at all, but I think it would be absolutely ridiculous not to try and sign him. He really is what our team needs. A veteran, can play PF at times, and great defender.
Nope. Signed for 14/15 & 15/16 at the mid-level. Plus Nick Johnson is someone that is probably going to be asked to play a similar role with Houston. We dont know what kind of player he's going to be in the NBA, but its worth a shot to see what he and other can do before you add in more contracts that you'd have to move in case of a mega trade.
Shawn Marion is the one we just need. Marion can help the Rockets to defend those PFs like Dirk or Griffen

Wesley Johnson is another one who can help our team I will sign Wesley Johnson BAE (1 year &2M) We need another PG, I like to bring back Brooks.
The list of potential MLE/BAE candidates continues to drop.... Jameer Nelson Ray Allen Shawn Marion Al-Farouq Aminu Mike Scott Everyone else is either above the MLE (Bledsoe and Monroe) or not worth more than the vet min. I don't see Jameer Nelson or Ray Allen coming here. Jameer because we'd rather play the odds that one of our young and cheap PGs turns out. Allen because he's likely leaning towards Cleveland or retirement and we already have Daniels. Marion is possible. We just spent 3 roster spots on frontcourt defense (Ariza, Dorsey, and Adrien), so I'm not sure how much room we have left for a defensive specialist. Same for Aminu. Still like Scott. Cheap, good upside, and good fit with this roster. Unfortunately, he's a RFA.
This is exactly the lineup I was thinking. It's possible that DMO could run out there with the second unit. I suspect Canaan and Nick Johnson would both get some minutes as well.
NO to Brooks. He cannot stop anything. Nothing. We're better off running the young guys out there (or Ish Smith...) Better off chasing Nelson. Yes to Wesley Johnson at the BAE. 2nd year team option though. And give Marion most of the MLE, [have to use some of it to sign Nick Johnson to his 3 year deal]
