And yet another guy we may be able to get for the minimum that could turn out to be hot fire in a bottle would be Brent Petway.
BEV: 41.4% fg, 36.1% 3, 81.4% ft 3.5 reb, 2.7 ast, 1.4 stl, 10.2 PPG MO: 41.7% fg, 36.9% 3, 87.6% ft, 2.1 reb, 4.3 ast, .7 stl 9.7 PPG Not really better than Beverly, but he does have a good bit more assists, which we could attribute to his playmaking ability.. if we got him for cheap i would totally be down
Please stop with your love of Chandler and go be a Mavs fan now... How about some simple numbers without pretty faces and chisled features: Chandler was 37.0% during the season and 36% during playoffs.. *Insert BS "it was a contract year" joke here* Parsons is 37% over career (3 yrs) Ariza is 35% over career (10yrs) Please explain a different meaning of CONSISTENT other than percentage over longer time period..
I wonder if we could work a SnT for Mike Scott with Atlanta. Something like DMo and one of our 2015 2nds for Scott. Or a straight TJones for Scott swap.
My rule on trade proposals is this: As yourself whether you would make that trade if you were the other team. Don't try to rationalize it. Just quick split decision if you were that team would you make the trade? If the answer is anything but absolutely yes then just forget it.
Both Jones and DMo have way more trade value than Mike Scott. ATL would literally JUMP on that deal. I would not do it.
Yea, im also not seeing the appeal of Mike Scott.. hes a slightly older version of TJones who gets less rebounds and pts.. is he a stud on defense or something?
Seen too many trades that didn't "make sense" to use this as a measure. It's just a matter of needs and wants. Let's look at a TJones for Smith swap. TJones 12 pts 7 rbs 54% fg 1.3 blocks Under rookie salary scale for 2 more years Smith 10 pts 4 rbs 48% fg 0.1 blks Restricted free agent I could easily see Atlanta looking at that and liking their return. They've got outside shooting...they need athleticism and weakside defense, both strengths of TJones. Plus you don't have to "pay" TJones for another two years......you have to pay Smith now. Of course the rockets won't do it unless Smith comes on a favorable deal. I don't see us committing more than $8 million over 2 years.
I think TJones and Smith have comparable value. One is an athletic wing-type with good help defense (Tjones). The other is a stretch 4 that is also good in the PnR (Smith). What probably puts TJones ahead is he's still got 2 years left on the rookie scale. Even after our recent signings we still lack someone to stretch the floor on offense and that won't get destroyed on defense. Not sure Scott is the guy, but he gives us a better skillset than TJones.
Rockets have Harden and two promising young SG's behind him with Johnson and Daniels, so I'd doubt Kevin Martin as a target at all. Dorsey and Adrien's contracts were used with cap space and not exceptions?
