Yes but let's say Denver wants to package the pick with other assets, be it more picks or players they can't make a deal until the nite of the draft. Very restrictive in the event that Denver wants to be active in the trade front.
I don't see why New York would do this. Right now it looks like the Rockets will have a higher draft pick than New York, so rescinding the rights to swap picks doesn't mean much. I don't see why there is such a love affair with Morey on this board. He's acquired a lot of 'assets' but until he does something with them we will just continue to be a mediocre team. It doesn't matter if our 10th guy is better than the other team's 10th guy.
It’s been too long since Indiana has been relevant that I’m surprised about Foster’s age. I like him, if we can’t get a stud he is a good consolation prize, how is his health this year?
Who wouldn't? but he is part of their core and they won't be open to trade him. anchel is referring to an easily attainable player which I agree. Barring Morey’s wizardry, I don’t see how we can get Hibbert.
If I were Houston I would target Spencer Hawes or Deandre Jordan who are almost opposites of each other. Neither guy is ever going to be an All Star but both could be serviceable big men. Jordan is beyond a miserable free throw shooter and lacks any semblance of a game outside of 10ft from the hoop but he's a big bodied defender who can patrol the paint effectively. In the end he probably rates to a slightly less effective but much taller version of Chuck Hayes. Spencer Hawes - young has a decent mid range game and decent passing ability. Not as tough as you would like down low but his skill set reminds me a bit of a poor man's Gasol. Seems like a younger version of Brad Miller and I'm not just saying that because he's white.
Wont happen, back to Foster.... -Health.... not great. -rebounding skills have declined alot. -If he could be had for cheap then hes a good stop gap for the year if he can stay healthy.
-All for Spencer Hawes if Philly makes him available which I doubt. More than likely you would have to take something crazy like Brand's contract for Hawes. Even serviceable Centers like Hawes are incredibly expensive and hard to pry away from a team. Trading Dalembert for Hawes was one of the more underated moves made this offseason by Philly.
He is a poor man’s version of a young Brad Miller, he would fit right in in this system but wouldn’t solve our problem. That sucks, a vintage Foster would be a good recipe.
People just need to let go of Randolph, he is not the missing piece. I liked him too, but only if he falls into our laps. Rather draft Jan Vesely. He is longer, better shooter, better without the ball and a more tenacious defender. Also is an underrated passer. That said, Morey needs to acquire Camby and Whiteside somehow. One is for the NOW, the other is for the future.
Not the best solution and not the youngest center but... Dallas is in dire need for a number 2 scoring option after Butler hurt his knee. Houston trades: Aaron Brooks Jarred Jeffries Chase Budinger Dallas trades: Brendan Haywood Rodey Beaubois AB is everything the Mavs hope Rodey turns into and could provide a very high powered scoring threat. Chase can also help the Mavs at the 3 or 2 spot. Jeffries would be a favorite of Rick Carlisle soon enough. The Mavs have been looking to trade Haywood.
i can tell you why NY doesnt do this..they desperitely need another big man so they wouldnt trade turiaf there only other big than amare for JJ
Earl Barron and Jaron Collins got released as well. I have a feeling Morey will pick up one this guys if he cant get a trade going.
Dallas is not in any way in a desperate need of a scoring guard because they have jason terry and i believe beaubois just came off of injury so he will split minutes at the pg a sg position with terry kid and barea
I agree. Hawes is playing well for Philly and I don't see them trading him. We may just have to wait for the summer and look at unrestricted free agents like Deandre Jordan and Fesenko.
Sasha Kaun. I've thrown his name out there before. He is playing out the last year in his 3-year contract in Russia, and his rights are held by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Other than that we're not landing anyone like Ibaka, Bogut or Okafor anytime soon.
