Does anyone have any idea how much they are offering for iPad 3s? If it's a minimum of $200 for the original, I'm hoping they bumped up the offers on more recent models so I can upgrade to an Air or Retina Mini. I checked on their website and they are appraising a 32GB iPad 3 for $170, so that can't be right.

I'm pretty sure Target wasn't expecting so many people to still have their iPad 1s. I mean before they raised the trade-in value to a minimum of $200, the iPad 1 was going for $65. Plus, from an accounting standpoint, it's good for inventory TO.

Funny thing is, people on Ebay STILL pay crazy money for iPad 1's. I got my iPad 1 64gb almost 2 years ago, and paid $250 for it. I could probably get close to that for it right now on Ebay, but I would just as soon just let Target give me $200 for it and call it a day.

Yeah...you don't get updates, Safari takes forever to load (and keeps crashing), and most apps don't work anymore. It's a no-brainer at $200.

Just traded mine in. They wouldn't let me trade it in without specifically buying an Apple product. I went to three different stores before I gave up and just got the iPad mini. I live in San Antonio by the way.

That is a good point....I still use mine as a daily reader but you are right in that apps are going to continue to die out....

Hmmm....time to let it go I think...

Isn't it heavy for a daily reader? The display itself would hurt my eyes. Consider the Nexus 7 if you don't already have one and just use the gift card on groceries.

If you're unscrupulous, you could have it on and have the general info page up for the mobility guy to check it and hope he's good with that.

They give it to you at checkout. Target does this a lot for different items.

It should come up on the register when they scan it at checkout.

The mini isn't heavy. Even the new air is considerably lighter than the gen 1.

Right, but he's the using the Ipad 1 as a daily reader. The Mini doesn't have retina display, and I don't think he wants to spend $400 on the Mini 2.

Ok, but just saying the mini isn't too heavy as a daily reader since you asked. The iPad 1 also didn't have a retina display.

At the Target I went to in Minnesota, they gave a $200 'electronics rebate' card, which is the same as a gift card (at least when I bought some groceries it was useable).

    Posting from new iPad mini.

    Rep to OP.

It's a great deal since I paid $300 for the iPad 1 4 years ago when the iPad 2 came out.
