Star players get double teamed all the time, unless you happen to be a SG playing next to Shaq. Dirk just didn't get it done.
I would be excited if we came away with Foye, I think. He's definitely not what we need, but could give us an interesting look.
Man, I'm excited about this draft. Only a few more hours until DaDakota's campaign for Redick is over! Though it will probably be a few years before he admits he was wrong about him! (I certainly know it'll be a few years before I'll admit I was wrong if he turns out to be great in the NBA. )
He'd be a great spark plug guard off of the bench (much better one than luther head) and some people have gone as far as to compare him to DWade which I think is ridiculous but I like him a lot. The guy knows how to score, now whether he can create assists and play defense is another issue.
Not gonna lie but I am starting to warm up to the idea of taking Foye with the 8th pick as well. I mean even Bilas is saying Toronto should take him #1 overall. I saw some of his highlights on that ESPN Draft Special last night and the kid is built like a truck. I'm not gonna compare him to Wade, but I see him being more like a Baron Davis. Just a big bulky guard who can bounce off people when driving the lane and get to the line. With that said, I'm still hoping to feel very GAY tonight!
I still want Ronnie Brewer at #8, but I definiantly feel that Randy Foye is a serious darkhorse as our pick at #8. It would be the "best player available" type of selection. I know detractors will hate on Foye's 6'3" size, but the guy can score points. He can shoot and he can put the ball on the floor and attack the basket, breaking down the defense. Foye could be our 3rd scorer we are looking for. Foye and Head are not the same player. Head is a shooter, Foye is a scorer/shooter. Foye is a better player. I think if we drafted Foye, then we probably wouldn't go after Mike James in FA as they are kind of duplicative.
this guy thinks gay will slide past 7 but thinks rox will pick brewer http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/ian_thomsen/06/28/mock.draft.revised/index.html?cnn=yes
I hope the Rockets won't pickup Marcus Williams. I think he is a pretty good PG but I don't think he is an upgrade from Skip.
New update from DraftExpress The Houston/Atlanta deal (Luther Head and #8/Shelden Williams for #5/Brandon Roy) is apparently still on the table, and according to our latest mock draft could very well happen, but cold feet on the part of Tellem and Atlanta’s end might force the Hawks to reach for Shelden Williams at #5. -If Roy is on the board at #7 like we have him now, it’s impossible to imagine the Blazers passing on him. -Multiple sources tell us that Marcus Williams is considered the “safe pick” by Houston at #8. They are looking at Foye, but could pass on him if they don’t consider him enough of a point guard. Ronnie Brewer is still an option here as well. MW would be very anti-climactic for me. Jason Kidd minus the athleticism, and defense with a better midrange jumper. I'd rather take a chance on Foye, or Brewer. Or trade down for the 12, and 15.
Slam shoulder into chest of defender closest to the basket, swing back with elbow to the face of the other defender, shoot uncontested shot?
