He asked the people on the BBS for advice on what type of dorm to apply for. That isn't begging for attention, that's asking those who may have done this before. It's this thing called being smart.

Many of us never applied there because we didn't want to go to school in downtown Austin. I know I qualified for admission there (both for undergrad and law school)...I just didn't want to be there. Before you have a coronary from the shock, you should realize that Austin isn't the center of the universe.

Oh great...a threat over a BBS. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't act like this in public.

No...you're trying to give him a hard time and tell him how big bad you would kick his ass.

UH is taking Oklahoma's OC away from them. All Coogs are flameproof at this time. :D

dude, first of all, it's important to say that the scholarship isn't even academic, it's a freakin' "first generation" scholarship and I got it because neither of my parents graduated from a 4 year college and because A&M is generous like that ( :D ) ...

I mean, I don't quite know how you got confused and didn't read post #8, it would've been really helpful for both of us..

I swear to god I am not full of my self.. I am not even in the top 20 people in the rank, my SAT score is mediocre, and I am about to bomb my precal final.. I was just trying to get advice from A&M people (notice I capitalized A&M to make it pretty distinguishable from "UT" in terms of spelling and appearance), that's not mentioning the glowing "GTFO" in the 1st page :D .. so yeah, wrong thread buddy, go start a "hail VY" thread, it much more fun for both of us...

btw, thanks for the advice in the end, I will definitely take it into consideration...

no seriously dude, you don't have to be a total d!ck about it, if you don't like what you see, hit the ignore button, or just don't reply to the damn thread.. I am getting some great advice from actual students that have 1st hand experience through this board, I don't know how this relates to you by any means..

    btw, thanks Refman..

I assume you missed out on his previous thread where he asked us where to go to college. I can't search, so you'll have to go back a while if you're interested.

Once again, refer to his last thread. He gives no valid reason on why he keeps bashing UT. His reasons are "I hate Vince Young", "UT people smoke weed", "Austin is garbage (when he hasn't even visited the campus)", etc. Pure B/S. I'm a moderate UT person, I'm not hardcore where I "bleed" burnt orange like some other people. I'm not going to insult someone for not going to UT. However, when someone goes out of their way to bash the school I attend for no valid reason and stereotype me with his garbage, that's where I draw the line.

I'd tell him off just like I did in this thread. I'd like to see him talk like he does in public. See how many people would still be around when he was done..

If I was trying to do that, I'd make sure to describe myself physically, my max on bench, incline, etc. so I could brag about it and look all cool.

Once again, you go out of your way to mention your "accomplishments" that relate nothing to the discussion.

About to bomb pre-cal? PRE-CAL?! Calculus will eat you alive. Not off to a good start..

Looking forward to the "I didn't get into Rice" thread.

walk it off p***y...he stated that he wanted no whorns in this thread but what happenes? whorns bust into this thread....so what if he doesn't like UT? it is his choice and why are you complaining about the bashing, it happens to everyone...the ags are the faggies, the coogs are cougar high, the red raiders are ITT Tech, and the longhorns are the bonghorns/whorns :D

    "UThugs", "bonghorns"... funny...

i guess you dont keep up w/ the news...

Yemi Babalola and Brandon Joiner (A&M football players) just recently got charged with aggravated robbery and posession of mar1juana, ecstacy, and hydrocodone...

    i like your picture.

as far as dorm advice, pick the one closest to the library that stays open 24hrs.

pre-med and your gonna bomb your pre-cal final? maybe you should pick another field of study...

like i said, A&M doesnt have a line of people waiting to get in like UT does.

the stats you stated speak volumes... 82% white, 2% black, 9% hispanic and 3% asian... looks like theyre making a stong push to diversify their campus...

How heartless to make light of these players and their obvious glaucoma and pain management issues. ;) :D

NONE of the libraries are full service open 24hrs. That is why we have the Kettle. :D :D

Neither school is particularly easy to get into. UT-Austin has an acceptance rate of 51%. A&M has an acceptance rate of 70%. One of the reasons for a lower acceptance rate is that UT-Austin has an enrollment of almost 50,000 students. Years ago, when I was in school, they capped enrollment.

Both are good schools. To ignore that is to ignore reality.

Meanwhile, UT-Austin is 56.6% white...3.9% african-american and 15% hispanic. Somewhat more diverse, but still pretty darned pasty.

Look at you...lobbing stones out of your glass house.

UT is a hell of a lot more diverse than A&M.

Not to start a D&D worthy thread, but when did more diverse equate to better?

who said anything about better? you just said that a&m and texas were comparable in their diversity. i'm not sure what they teach you at aggieland, but apparently statistics isn't one of them because there's a significant difference between 82% and 56%.

I never said they were the same. I said that while UT was more diverse, it was still pretty pasty.

African-Americans and Hispanics still make up a far lesser % of the student body than they do the general population. Apparently I have to spell out damned near everything around here.

I think people who get worked up over 'my-school-is-better-than-your-school' stuff should put on their orange/maroon, arm themselves with chains and knives, and go have a war!

It'd be great - really cut down on the moron population on both campuses.

I seriously can't keep track of which university is who on the what.

I lived in Texas a couple of years before I realized that A&M wasn't the school that used the Longhorn logo.
