Don't hold your breath. McFail will disappoint you. I know this is blasphemous but if Harden goes down for any extended period of time this team will completely fall apart with McFail at the helm.
He just signed a 3 year contract with Atlanta for $10 million total. Really thought he might be a guy we go after in free agency. Not sure what (if anything) he brings on defense, but he's got a good offensive game.
I guess what I meant is if he had a young Cassell or Horry I don't think he'd bury them on the bench. I'm not saying McHale is awesome at coaching but those 2 had pretty decent careers, some of the other players he's passed on aren't exactly at their level. I think if Canaan didn't get hurt he'd still be playing.
I wish Morey wouldn't have screwed up the Parsons deal so badly. Unlikely this thread pops up if he is still here.
Idd add mirza teletovix to the list as potential sharp shooting big target. Hes in a slump and down to .324 from 3. BUT he was over 40%around a month or so ago. He also shot 39% last year on 4.8 attempts per game and is currently shooting 4.9 attempts per game. I'd like to think his shooting woes come from the team slumping, injuries and just an abysmal situation. I imagine he would get back up to 40% with this team. Solid stretch 4 off the bench that would likely be cheap. Probably could nab for 2nd and possibly rid dorseys contract.
That depends, does this version of the Rockets include "thumb-up-my-ass-on-defense" Harden from last year or "I-can-at-least-be-bothered-to-move-a-few-steps-on-defense" Harden from this year? Ariza is a better defender than Parsons, for sure, but he isn't a guy that changes the face of franchise's defense. The Rockets' defensive improvement goes beyond going from an average to a very good defender at SF. Morey still screwed it up.
People only want to view McHale's actions in a way that supports their stance apparently. The same people who complained about McHale not playing Lin during his first stint, before he blew up in New York, would conveniently ignore him giving Beverley playing time over Lin months later.
We *could* have our answer in DMo. I think Bima posted something about him shooting 35% from 3 since December 1st. He's only shooting when he's wide open, but with another year or so, he may develop into a quality threat from the perimeter. If he shoots 36% from 3 next season (league average), prepare yourself for a max offer.
