For those who believe Houston needs to acquire a tall(er) guy who can shoot threes, here are the top 3pt% players in the league this season who a) are at least 6'7", b) are averaging at least 1.5 three point attempts per game, and c) have played in at least 15 games this season. I am going to stop at 33.0%.

    1 Kyle Korver 53.6% (!)
    2 Luke Babbitt 49.3%
    3 Rasual Butler 46.5%
    4 Harrison Barnes 44.9%
    5 Kevin Durant 44.7%
    6 Klay Thompson 44.4%

The bottom two guys on this list, in case you were wondering:

I know you jest, but the Rockets TEAM would be better overall if we did that.

Should trade for the Kevin Durant guy. You think Nick Johnson is enough to get him?

Dmo would get destroyed by other centers in the league if we did that. We would be misusing Dmo just like how smith was misused before. which would lead to more and more issues with this team.

should have kept 2pat when we had the chance. Why do we always end up letting go of players and wanting them back less than a year later

What OTHER centers in the league?

The league only has like 4 or 5 Centers now....DMo has held his own against Gasol, Noah, Cousins, who else is there?

He is not a blocking shots guy but plays good position defense.

Didn't realize T. Ross was up there. Not really available but he'd be a sweet pickup. Tucker isn't on that list (1.2 made). He would have been a nice addition too.

Enough of this so called finesse small forwards playing as undersized PF. We have had hundreds of them bitches.

Go get a PG and vet back up C and call it a day.

The difference between Rudy T (championship coach) and Mchale (unproven) is that Rudy was willing to let young guys play key roles.

Horry and Cassell - in place of guys that were vets....

We have all we need on the roster now, in Canaan and Tjones.......with DMo backing up center....but McHale needs to have the stones to let them play through their mistakes and let their talent shine through.

Mabye - but for me, the team is fine with DMo at center - and a good PF next to him - Dwight seems to me to be disengaged and lazy these days - too moody and mentally weak for my taste.

What is Mike Scott's contract situation? I've never paid close attention but whenever i see him he's lighting it up from 3. Seems to be the prototype stretch 4 to come off the bench.

Yeah right, the Rockets won't be better unless they change their name or time travel back to 1980/90 for some of their old players. Lol, with that trade they're still a first round exit. At least with Dwight he might decide to play and Houston can go out in the 2nd round.

I'm not a fan whatsoever of D-Mo getting full-time starting C minutes ever. I don't think he would necessarily be horrible at it, but long term his game is at PF with a bruiser center next to him.

That makes the best use of his skill-set and allows him to not get beat up for 35 mins a night. The wear and tear of playing center would probably not suit D-Mo in the long run.

The only reason I say go get a PG is because McHale has ZERO trust in Canaan despite Canaan playing pretty well early on given his chances. He rather go with the veteran Terry or new boy Shved ahead of Canaan. Both who can't really run the show.

I think the roster is pretty complete but like you said if the coach doesn't trust certain players then it is deemed to be incomplete. McHale loves his veterans. The only guy I say who was given a chance as a young gun was Parsons. Even DMo's growth (and TJ's) have been out of accident (lack of options) and injuries as well as morey trading away Ppat

Remember all the Doug McDermott hype coming into this year? I heard some ESPN talking heads suggest he'd be a frontrunner for the ROY. Ha. Obviously that injury didn't help, but he was doing poor before it.

I'm sure he'll turn it around and get better, but still, I never knew why some people were so high on him.

Completely agree. It's up to McHale to put the young guys in situations where they succeed and help keep them out of situations where they can hurt team. Isn't that the point of being a coach?

With the additions of guys like Josh Smith and Corey Brewer McHale has the luxury of making sure Terrence Jones never has to guard LaMarcus Aldridge one-on-one for long stretches or that Canaan isn't matched up against a 6'6" guard who can post him.

There is so much diverse talent on this team that we really should be a nightmare match-up for other teams and not the other way around IF McHale uses everything he has.

McHale is the same guy that started Parsons as a rookie though.
